Dude the Sedins are pretty filthy. Yeah you can't expect them to wn board battles, but those two go as VanCity goes, they don't have any other pure skill guys. - GirouxForTheShow
Pick up your game young one.
Skill is overrated, when you can have a physical 3rd line shut them down year after year.
Personal hatred toward soft skilled forwards. |

skill is great for the regular season but when you're in the 10 yard fight in the playoffs playing soft will get you killed |

Firstly, true they could've been trying this whole time. I don't think it'll be a waste of time as much as it'll sever trade relationships. If it fails and we decide we'd like Shattenkirk, well his price just coincidentally skyrocketed. Also, what goes around comes around. I'm sure teams would start offering contracts to our RFAs if we made a habit out of doing it to other teams. - JAKEw1234
It's a waste of time because St Louis can wait a week to match, which means that the Flyers will be pretty much unable to do anything while waiting for the outcome.
They can't trade the picks that would go to the Blues as compensation if they refuse to match, they can't use the money involved because it'd put them over the cap if the Blues didn't match.
As for it becoming a habit, well, Weber is the 3rd RFA the Flyers have signed to an offer sheet. They previously signed Chris Gratton and Ryan Kesler. Gratton was not matched and Kesler was. |

Hey buzzards,
I put together a few profiles of some of the potential Flyer 1st rd draft picks...I tried to consolidate information from a variety of sources and give my take...there are many links and yes, there are youtube videos! I'll try and add stuff as I find it, though I might be too lazy to do that, and I'm not being paid for it...so, yeah...
Anyway, I put them over in the Flyers forum section....for now, I have done three of the top Defensemen (not named Jones):
Darnell Nurse:

Nikita Zadorov:

Ryan Pulock:

enjoy... - exlund
Including Ristolainen there should be plenty of good available d-men at the 11th spot. It wouldn't be reaching to take any of them.
I pray the Flyers take one or the pedestrians of Winnipeg might be in danger |

Yeah, I'm probably doing Risto and maybe Morrissey next...not tonight though...getting late. |

A lot of the problem to me is they have 0 secondary scoring. And opposing teams can afford to put out their 3rd shutdown line and not have to worry about any other line scoring.
Sedins in the playoffs do seem to play even more fairy-esque. Henrik is the worst of the both of them, Daniel plays better when he gets his nose a little dirty. |

Pulock has my vote. I want a defenseman that can put the puck on net. He's our PP QB for the future. And a damn good one. |

Zadorov is mine.
The size, and mobility give him a ceiling that cant be matched by many. His offensive game wont wow you, but neither will Chara or Pronger's. |

PAVELSKI SCORES AGAIN!!!! |

honestly i'd love to see the stats on that... how many teams used 14 defensemen in 48 games
how that turns into people sayinge mesz never did anything besdes get a shoulder injury is beyond me,
thankfully. - Don'tForgetTocchet
this season and in the big picture: lindros, primeau, pronger. it's kind of ludicrous
lindbergh is a totally different situation obviously, but i think that factors in as well
we are cursed
but mesz: yea people have short memories. love to just completely tear players down as soon as it becomes convenient. not to say i'm comfortable with the whole (seemingly) endless injury situation, but that's a separate issue from his past contributions |

I mean who knows what the makeup of the Dcorps looks like in 3 years, but I see Schenn, Grossman, maybe Coburn and then young guys like Lauridison and the need for a big body doesn't seem dire. Granted its BPA, but if one is ranked a 9.9 and the other is 9.8 but fills more of a need? And I'll say I don't know too much about Zadorov, if he has any offensive upside, his size and skating intrigue me.
Although I could probably argue with the Pronger comment. His ability to make the quickest decisions in the O zone always wowed me. But I get your point, it was never flashy ala EK65 |

As much as Schneider should have had at least 2 of them, the Sharks are firing on all cylinders and the Nucks are just letting them, they back pedal until their ass hits the end boards or the red light goes on. |

Speaking of wanting to get bigger, I wonder if the Canucks would part with Zach Kassian. They just got him a season ago from the Sabers but I do wonder if he is a real fit with the Canucks. He can play though. |
