Call me crazy, but how KO & Bailey are playing has raised their trade value.
Does anyone think they could be put in a package for a star player?
Also do think Snow will explore getting a younger goalie, whether Bernier, Schneider, Smith, etc, and bring back Nabby too.
Next year JT will have another Star winger to improve the team..... - Ur Not Me
I hope your right on the star winger part but no to okposo and Bailey. I can't believe I'm now saying that about okposo |

This just in: the Leafs suck. So does Montreal, and they're a bunch of punks, besides everything else. Now you know why I had a sh*t fit that we lost our last three games- we'd have mopped the rink with either one of those piles of cr*p. - dcb1
I agree. Wanted to play Montreal badly |

I mean it when I say he is becoming my favorite player. I hope he keeps this up early into next season. We can get a top seed next year |

Would have loved to play the Leafs, sens, caps or Canadians. We would be up in the series without question. - mighty13duck
I wouldn't say without question, you never know how you're going to match up. Without saying we would have had a better chance of course! I actually like playing the pens I think this is an awesome series. It's good to see we van compete against them and I really think we have a legit shot. I did want Montreal and I was pissed the way they played at the end of the season but I'm happy with the way they're playing. |

He just has to find consistency. Some players never do. We've never seen this okposo though. Hopefully this one is here to stay.
Edit. That was supposed to be a thumbs up |

We'd have beaten Toronto in four games. That one would have been the ticket, but both of us would have had to pass Boston to make that happen. Reimer is the kind of goalie who makes my head start to hurt just behind my left eye, which eventually turns into a full blown migraine....just like DiPietro. |

I think we stood a better shot of beating those other teams but I also think that playing the pens is great for these young guys. Overall this series, I think we have been the better team and even if we lose the series, this has been a great learning experience for the Isles. What better way to gain confidence then to play their hearts out against the best in the league? I feel good about tomorrow night, really hoping for the W. They just need to continue their strong play and Nabby has to be better. If those things happen, we can beat these guys. I cant make it tomorrow night and I'm bummed about it, but I sure hope the coliseum is as electric as it was on Sunday. That was unbelievable. |

Snow has tried to trade KO but wasn't receiving the offers he'd prefer.
U cant stake homerism just bc he has finally played well, Bailey too.
We need to progress into next year, and watch by next year, ppl will complain how these guys are playing. 1 or both will be packaged to bring in D or better W or even a 2nd line C "which this team desperately needs"
Isles have ton of prospects lurking in the wings to replace KO & Bales, plus a lot of cap space......it will be a better team next year... |

Im hoping Capuano doesn't get cute with the addition of Marty reasoner or anything mind blowingly dumb like we all know hes capable of doing. Nabby needs to have a good game tomorrow, he's due. |

I never wanted Bailey traded. Okposo I would've drove to the airport honestly three months ago. The way he is playing now is exactly what we need. It's not Homerism. If he can maintain what he's doing or even holds onto most of it you don't trade that away. He has been the power forward we all say we need. Sure he can lapse back to shat again but I think he may have turned a corner. Could be wrong but I think it'd be a little crazy to trade him when he seems to have reached some of if his potential. I don't see either of them going bit if one was going to go it'd prob be Bailey ufort |

Here's the problem: if I offered you Okposo and Bailey straight up, which superstar player would you give me? Dial tone.....
Point is- you'll have to trade prospects anyway, so you might as well look to a team that would be interested in stockpiling a couple of kids in exchange for the one solid item on their team. I'd rather keep Okposo and Bailey for second/third line duty, for which they are both capable, and maybe, just maybe, one or both will turn into consistent, good players.
As for who....now that his one year is up, I've got to think that it is pointless for Nashville to keep paying Weber....and he would be a game changer for us...big time... |

If no trades are made, or FA signed, then they are both staying, but bc they have friendly cap numbers, they could be used as assets .......
3 players off top my head are/will be available...
Clutterbuck - Minn
Stewart - Blues
Stasny - Avs
you wouldn't trade for any of them? |

As long as it doesn't hurt THIS team, and still leaves us enough to get a goalie...in fact, I'd empty the stable for Weber and Rinne. I'm not kidding- as many of them as necessary. Then all you'd need is to sign a capable wing for Tavares, and who wouldn't sign with that team? |

Good one in Detroit...Datsyuk just unloaded a bomb to tie it with about 5 left in regulation... |

I do think when a player goes through their first playoff series it tends to change their work ethic and intensity level. This whole team found an identity through the final month of the season and now are gaining huge experience. |

We stand no chance if he doesn't start playing like he has during the regular season. Really need him to step up and steal one. We will not beat Pittsburgh with subpar goaltending. |

I wouldn't go overboard looking for a trade. This team is in a financial and personnel position that most teams will envy. We have incredibly manageable cap figures and a long list of talent that will keep us relative for over a decade. There's no point in taking on inflated contracts via trade at the expense of primo talents when we can possibly sign impact players at no cost to our system. When you look at some of the perennial contenders in sports like the Patriots or Red Wings, they do what they do by adding useful pieces through the draft and grabbing help via free agency. Our patience is paying off now. We're very close to seeing this all come together now. |
