Really it comes down to special teams. When the Islanders PP is going 0-3 and the Penguins go 3-4 chances are the Penguins are going to win. Marginal call or not. |

Thruth be told, I have felt that the Isle have gotten away with murder all series long. Especially game 2. I didn't come here and female dog about it. I offered a congratualtions on a well played game and geting the job done.If the call is not made by the refs on JT in the exact situation there is arguing going on that it wasn't called. - Doogs
Since I don't typically post on other teams blogs, I'm curious as to whether any of our folks have crossed over to your blog to complain about the call? I mean, the bottom line is that the call resulted in the game winning goal. No call, no goal. So I think on a borderline penalty in overtime like that, folks are naturally going to feel cheated in here, so to act as though the complaints are shocking or whatever is sort of silly. You could perhaps gripe at someone if they were coming into the Pens blog to say "we got robbed".
I'm not saying you folks aren't welcome to come in here, but I'm pretty sure you guys would be irate if things happened the other way around yesterday. For the most part, I think the officaiting had been even up until the fourth pens goal. Two infractions were ignored which led to that fourth goal then the call in OT. Sure, we can say the Isles need to kill those penalties, but we can't ignore the fact that without that OT call, the end result may have been very different. This is exactly why refs tend NOT to make those close calls in OT. |

He deserves 5 games, it actually should be the same suspension as leaving the bench during a fight. - nbartley9
Ok, so lets give him the same penalty that Godard got for coming off the bench when Haley and Johnson fought in that February blood bath game. Oh yeah, it was 0 games. Never mind. |

He was pulled down, as he was going to the net. It was an obvious call. Please stop whining. |

Yeah, I was about to say...
Also, probably not the smartest thing to reference a supposed tough guy picking a fight with a goalie. Unless it's Ray Emery. |

A penalty in regulation is a penalty in overtime no matter how you slice it or dice it. That call has been made every time since 2005. Should they not have called the delay of games n overtime for the Caps v. Rags? No blood on the play? See how ridiculous your argument is? - Oneonta Penguin
Ok. So the blatant spear on grAbs in the beginning of it right in front of the ref? |

Yep...by that powerhouse Brian Strait with a hand on top of his shoulder. He went down like he hit a banana peel. There's no way for a second I beleive a guy as strong on his skates as Sid would go down that easily. As I've said, I think in the regular season that call is made, but in an OT game just seconds after Streit was hooked in the other zone, it comes off as tickytac call.

What was there to talk about we gave away a game in the playoffs it was pathetic.
Your team is playing awesome minus game one, this has been a crazy series.
But to be honest lets leave the Ref bashing to Caps and Flyers fans. |

I agree I could not ask for anything more from this team. They are giving the Pens a ride of there lives. Lets hope it continues. Calls will be made. I think because it was on Cindy everyone is up in arms but we all know you are not allowed to be 5 feet from him. Strait should have made him go the net and see if NAbby could have made the save |

this is all I'm going to say, because this is the most ridiculous title I've ever seen.
54.1 Holding – Any action by a player that retards the progress of an opposing player whether or not he is in possession of the puck.
54.2 Minor Penalty - A minor penalty shall be imposed on a player who holds an opponent by using his hands, arms or legs.
A player is permitted to use his arm in a strength move, by blocking his opponent, provided he has body position and is not using his hands in a holding manner, when doing so.
He lost defensive position on Crosby and was defending from behind. Therefore he lost body position. He used his free hand and stick hand, both on Crosby's shoulder from behind. Therefore retarding the progress of an opposing player and using his hands in a holding manner.
You might not like the call, but it had all the qualities of a textbook hold. Body position lost, defending from behind, and TWO hands on the shoulder from behind.
You honestly think in overtime, Crosby beats his man and has a chance to go to the net and score to end the game, that he'd dive and run the risk of the Isles going the other way and scoring? Crosby was trying to get to the net and score, that's what's on your mind in OT. Get hard to the net and try to create a scoring chance. Diving, not getting the call and running the risk of the Isles taking off on an odd man rush is the last thing you'd want to do.
Good luck the rest of the way, I will admit you have deserved better, and Bylsma is the worst playoff coach year after year. |

Not at all. Most of your level headed fans admitted that call typically doesn't get made in OT of a playoff game. Then there's some of you who treat it as though it were elementary. I'm pretty sure you'd be singing a different tune if it went the other way around. That's life in sports. Still not sure why you'd feel it's a winning battle to go to the other teams board and argue the point though. |

keaner, I have been posting here a long time. I have spent much time in Flyer blogs discussing games. I have posted in the Isles blogs during this series and am not trolling. I am here to discuss. I don't need to sit around in a Pens circle jerk talking about a 2-1 series lead.
I came into this series uneasy. Actually the 2 teams in the East that unnerve me are the Isles and the Leafs. Your team plays the system that has had success against the Pens.
I give credit and like to discuss and sometimes debate. I promise you won't see me here calling people names.
