When Crawford has a 946 SV% and wins a Conn Smythe, then we can talk. Quick's team has 3 goals in 3 games and his SV% is 960. If we had Quick we wouldn't have lost a game - rollpards19
....and if you had the same lineup that skates in front of Quick you would likely be down 2-1 also.

Crawford is adequate, at best. He's proven that he's incapable of stealing a game for the Hawks. They better start scoring at a much higher pace if they expect to win the Cup with him in the net. - Ogilthorpe2
As you have stated in so many words... Crawford isn't the guy making 6.3, 6 or 8 mil... |

Washington and Toronto also on the cheap for goaltending spending.Quick is still a bargain this year at 1.9 mil but jumps up next year.If the Hawks choose to spend more on everything other than goaltending you can't biatch when the extra money lays an egg. There are a lot of more expensive goalies golfing right now. |

I don't know what to make of that game yesterday....The hawks played very well for the 1st, 10 minutes but this lack of being able to capitalize is going to derail this team ASAP. IT's pathetic. There is no sense of urgency, no quick passes, just hope plays and those dont' work.
Toews...I love this kid, but he has to show up. So far he's been a ghost. The whole 1st line, outside of a Hossa goal (all kane), and Oduya's goal (hossa got a 2nd assist, but again...all Kane), has been brutal. 2 points, in 3 games is not acceptable. They are being out worked, and Toews was at fault on Parise's goal...and on Minny's 1st goal,,Keith and Hossa were lost.
Crawford has been very good outside of the 2 bad goals....He seems to have his glove far too low, and Minny is starting to go high...every time. The OT goal...can't happen. Guy is 4-5 in career OT games, and needs to figure out how to stay in the game and not get nerves when the extra time begins...
Overall, we haven't seen the Hawks best effort. We may have seen Minny's yesterday, but it's time for guys like sharp, hossa, toews, Keith, and Seabrook to match the play of Kane.
And yeah..time for Bolig to sit. He seems complacent, and has to be replaced with somebody who is going to bring energy, and physicality. |

The King of Embellishment performs his artistry for the Canucks - Ryan Kesler.
Clearly Bieksa missed the classes his own teammate conducted in that art. Burrows and Lapierre got their diplomas while Kevin went on vacation.
Big changes coming in Van - for those who don't like Q so much, AV should be free and available by the end of the week. |

Not sure in get what you are saying. And I am not biatching about anything. When our top dollar guys who by the way are paid to produce... Don't ... Our chances of winning aren't so good. I am more concerned about what Toews Hossa Kane Seabrook Keith and Sharp do than Crawford. If our skill guys produce... We are near unbeatable. I am not very concerned about the Wild. We play this way against the Sharks... We will be golfing early as well. |

He's making less money - OK to give up a bad goal in OT. |

Most here will disagree with me because they don't think he can skate, but I want Jimmy Hayes in the lineup and playing the PP to provide some net presence. Send him to the front of the net and that occupies a defenceman full time trying to move him. All of a sudden Toews and Hossa have a little more space and a split second more time. And a fresh Hayes can lay the body on a few defenceman.
Bollig is neither an issue or a solution. Saad seems to be playing nervous, unsure of himself; no surprise for a rook. A night in civvies watching wouldn't hurt him or the team. |

Bryan Bickell can do it, and wont' kill this team the other 95% of the game the way Hayes will. Not a believer in him at all...but I do agree they need a big body in front of the net.
Saad looks bad...Has to be a LOT better, or else it's time Q moves him down and gives a veteran a chance with toews and hossa. |

Crawford isn't without fault. So no. He should have made that save. But for going on 3 years now out highest paid players aren't scoring. And they get paid to do so. And get 1/10 the scrutiny. I expect ALOT more from Toews Hossa Kane and Sharp then I do Crawford. Crawford is a middle of the road goalie. These other guys are stars. So I ask you... Is it ok for Toews not to score? Or is he untouchable as always??? If he and Hossa do their job.. There is no OT. |

Hayes would replace Bollig on the 4th line and take a turn on the PP. He's no more of a liability than Bollig is.
Saad is just a kid, first time on the big stage playing in the NHL playoffs. No different from a golfer who doesn't cope with the pressure of playing in a major championship for the first time. Out of synch, out of rythym, nervous. |

Al, I don't think we're (at least I'm not) comparing him to anyone: for this Hawks team to win, if the Hawks focus on protecting him, he doesn't have to be Lundquist or Rinne or Quick or Andersen. .
But he has to make that save last nite in OT. |

The whole 1st line has been bad, is Saad the problem? I suppose it's possible that he's dragging Toews and Hossa down, but I'm not so sure. Individually I don't really think he's looked any worse than his line mates. IMO, everyone in the top 6 not named Kane needs to step it up a notch or two. |

Those $600 tickets (face value) on the glass don't look so enticing anymore. F$ck the Maple Leafs.
Think Chicago fans would appreciate having Dion Phaneuf on the Hawk blueline in place of Duncan Keith? |

I would worry more at this point why the game got to OT after the Hawks were text book good the first 13 mins.
Bad goal or not Crawford has been the best player on his team in at least one if not two games and ...Has outplayed his counterpart in each game.

Agreed. The whole "core" outside of kane needs to wake up, set an example, and lead...otherwise, this will be a very short playoff run.
Oh, and for the guy who claims late season trades dont' mean crap...how is Iginla looking? Put up big numbers in the regular season for the Pens, and has 5 points in 3 playoff games....yeah, he wasn't worth looking at..... |

Was going to say the same. Bieksa's had a front row seat for the likes of Kesler's and the Sedin's shenanigans for however many years he's been in VAN. Takes one to know one Kevin. Where's Vern Fidler to imitate him when you need him?

No point in going out on the ledge after one loss. Forget Mayers unless its just to replace Bollig and be an extra faceoff man. Carcillo would automatically be in the lineup for me tomorrow night in place of #52. And Handzus would be back to 10-12 minutes and specialty situation time - don't want him as regular 2C.
