Pens are a mess right now.....
But let's not forget, it's now a best of 3, and we have home ice. There is nothing to suggest we'll turn it around, but it's nothing like being down 3-0 like last year.

This is all I am saying tonight.
Fleury hasn't been good, but the team in front of him is being completely dominated 5 on 5. It isn't even close. The Islanders are outskating, outhitting and just outplaying the Penguins. Look at the chances generated. All of the Islander chances are simple shots to the front of the net and then they win battles for the puck. I know it looks like the Penguins outshot the Islanders, but dippy little wristers don't count.
For being such a high skilled and experienced team, this Penguins team is playing like the team that is tasting the playoffs for the first time. Just look at the give away's leading the Tavares goals, the one by Letang/Adams at the Islander blueline while shorthanded. A good playoff team gets that deep and lives to fight another day. Then Malkin's giveaway was a thing of beauty. He couldn't have made a better pass.
Blame Fleury all you want, but in my hockey opinion there are 19 other guys who better look themselves in the mirror and make a few hard decisions. It's time for the leadership group of this team to wake the (frank) up and pull it together. - Ben37
When people are scoring from behind the net it's hard to make up all those goals |

words can not describe this feeling right now. anger is probably the highest emotion going right now.
I am done with MAF. I no longer care for him and no longer want to see him in playoff games.
I no longer want to see Bylsma coach this team. This is just absolutely inexcusable. He is being out coached by Micky Mouse. Literally everything the Islanders did wrong in Game 1, they fixed and they altered their game plan. Bylsma has done NOTHING to fix this. It is absolutely unbelievable that this team refuses to play. We have veterans, Morrow, Iginla, Murray, Adams... all of these veterans and we play like we are deer staring at the headlights.
When you give up 44 goals in 10 playoff games, something is SERIOUSLY wrong. I mean SERIOUSLY. a 4.4 average per game is just unheard of.
I really wonder what will happen to this team if we lose in the first round. I honestly think Malkin might go. Bylsma might go. MAF might go.
It's 2-2. I know that is seems like we are down 3-1. and in all seriousness, we probably should be. But if this team can't get it together for Game 5 at home to determine who will be playing game 6 looking for the kill... then they never will get it together.
If MAF starts Game 5, I'm not sure I'm going to watch it. this is just truly unbelievable. |

Pens keep the isles down to 24 shots this game. Fleury literally gave them 3 goals - drummer829
If you would have told me that before the game I would have said the Penguins would win.
The goal for the Islanders at the end of the second period was just brutal. No excuse for that.
Time for Vokoun without a doubt.

Can't defend him anymore, absolute poopshow between the pipes and Malkin can start making simple plays to get the puck out anytime.
Isles fans- Good win no need to rub it in. Taken a couple name callers out already and when I get back from the bar I won't hesitate to take more.
If you want to be around to comment on game 5 behave yourselves. |

Your logic is sound, but the Okposo goal was soft; the Cisakas goal was soft and one other this game. The Okposo goal in game two was soft; same with two others. He has given up more soft goals in this series than he did against the Flyers last year.

Without question, I could care less at what anyone says, dump Letang this summer he is as bad as Flower, we'd get more back for Tanger though. Don't wanna see him in a Pens uniform next year - ernmerica

No ... at this stage though, I'd consider buying out Fleury with one of our amnesty clauses. Ride Vokoun next year and hope Hartzell is ready to back up.

Fleury is just soft (soff) mentally and that's not what is needed from a goaltender. That's the only reason I think he started this game because benching him one game and going back to him would have really screwed him up. Now I don't think we are him again. - Genev21
So you're saying Vokoun, who I took with the last pick in my pool like the (frank)ing genius I am, is going to take over from here and guide the penguins through at least a couple series wins, right? |

Bylsma is fired no matter what if he doesn't get them to the conference finals. If we just happen to beat the isles and meet the sens and lose to them, that's just as bad given the talent of this team.
I'd bet next season Zatkoff and Hartzell get some SERIOUS looks

Said it over the off-season, but at that point I had Martin as a throw in. At least one of them resurrected themselves. |

How many giveaways and turnovers did we have that game? We were extremely sloppy with getting the puck out of our zone. Flower was definitely a big bag of poop, but he did make a few good saves. The problem was the ones he let in were absolutely horrible.
Our 4th line was invisible. I love Craig, but Im in favor of putting TK in over him. We need to spend time in their zone grinding the puck. We need to play better along the boards and do a better job getting the puck out of our zone. |

why would pitt trade him in general? YOU use logic. it was just a suggestion to start some conversation, unless you wanna keep talking about you 4.4 GAA in the last 10 games.

That's a fair trade, but you'd be better off drafting a goalie and hoping to resign Vokoun, trade Fleury for whatever while you wait for your draftee to develop. |
