How many giveaways and turnovers did we have that game? We were extremely sloppy with getting the puck out of our zone. Flower was definitely a big bag of poop, but he did make a few good saves. The problem was the ones he let in were absolutely horrible.
Our 4th line was invisible. I love Craig, but Im in favor of putting TK in over him. We need to spend time in their zone grinding the puck. We need to play better along the boards and do a better job getting the puck out of our zone. - thickman1178
Malkin's garbage play gave the Islanders the game winner.

So you're saying Vokoun, who I took with the last pick in my pool like the (frank)ing genius I am, is going to take over from here and guide the penguins through at least a couple series wins, right? - TommyDeVito
I wouldn't say it's that far fetched. But if the Pens don't start playing some defense it won't matter if Patrick Roy in his prime shows up. This team will go nowhere playing like this.
Full credit to the Isles, they just kept coming. |

No at least with fleury we can say goodbye to him when his contract ends or even trade him because we didnt give him a lifetime contract. - Genev21
The worry is the window is right now, Worry about Luongo's crappy deal in 5 years, for now we need a proven goalie that we can ride for the next 4-5 years, and Luongo is elite and can be had for a song |

one thing I might add... if you look back at our Cup years, all 3 of them had tough first round matchups. 2 years went 7 and 2009 went 6 against Philly.
Nothing will be handed to us. The days where the 1 vs 8 matchup is pretty much a bye for the 1 seed are over. This penguins team and organization have really become the "entitled" organization. They think they are entitled to everything. That they are entitled to a first round win, that they are entitled to special treatment from the NHL.
It is a joke.
Now, it is a best of 3 with 2 games at home. If the penguins win them both, we might look back on this night in late June and laugh, but right now this is just ugly and unbelievable.
heads will be rolling if we go out in the first. |

Don't need him to lead them through them just don't suck. You can't go into a game thinking you need 5 goals every time to win. |

why would pitt trade him in general? YOU use logic. it was just a suggestion to start some conversation, unless you wanna keep talking about you 4.4 GAA in the last 10 games.
MDZ + fast + 2nd? - rangerdanger94
Pittsburgh won't trade a Norris finalist to an arch rival, if they decide to do it. Again, use some logic. How exactly would that garbage offer help our 4.4 GAA in the last 10 games? Do some thinking.

Maybe we can sign mike smith and then trade fleury for something. Mike smith at least showed he can play in the playoffs |

Can't defend him anymore, absolute poopshow between the pipes and Malkin can start making simple plays to get the puck out anytime.
Isles fans- Good win no need to rub it in. Taken a couple name callers out already and when I get back from the bar I won't hesitate to take more.

It is not just MAF, it was just a cave in and dumbness by a team that should know better. I guess we can blame Bysma, and he is the bottom line. I am not a fan of his at all at this moment. but the team's lack of focus is pretty appaling. they may win this series but is it important? Loo at Chicago. they are not a psycho team that unravels and plays so poorly! If my team does their best and loses I say better luck next time. When games like this happen I can't help but feel a bit betrayed. |

Well said. All of it. Give credit where credit is due. It's a 2-2 series though. Plenty to work on. |

Luongo is a bigger head case in the play-offs than Fleury. At least Fleury has a Cup. It's an easy no. Anyone who thinks it is a yes is a moron.

True how does he perform in the playoffs again they would get the same thing with a worse contract |

Fleury for Luongo - Straight up - Do you do it? - TheGame316
Miller only has one year left on his contract and Pegula will eat some of his 6 million salary, but the Sabres won't want Fleury. |

They were floating around all game. Fleury played crap. You can see that they just expected to win. They haven't deserved to win since the first game. When are they going to wake the f up? |

in all seriousness, if you are looking for a serious solution and are bent on making trades (it is 2-2 by the way, we aren't out yet)
Trade Malkin to LA and bring back Bernier in a nice package.
Trade MAF to EDM or FLA for their first round pick. |

lol apparently we're not allowed to discuss trade possibilities for fun...
how would that "garbage offer" (which honestly would be VERY close to getting it done in real life, if we weren't in the same division) help? well you'll get MDZ, who is better than letang in his own end, and signed for very cheap, who will still be a RFA for 4-5 more years (so you don't risk losing him for nothing like letang in FA soon), you get thomas who's a good prospect, and a 2nd. |

No it's not just him, but sooner or later he needs to make some saves. The goals he lets in from behind the goal crease need to stop. Holy (frank) just stay in your (frank)ing net facing the other goal and the Isles would have 4 less goals this series. |

Or Vitale, at least he has heart and puts in effort unlike most of this team's defense. |
