Penguins #1 issue is the neutral zone. Defensemen are backed inside the blue line before the Islander forwards are even to the offside faceoff dot.
Speed drives them back, which means the forwards aren't helping out enough.
It's a real mess and that has led to countless controlled zone entries. - Gunner Staal
I said it before the playoffs, Isles and Leafs have the speed to give us fits. |

Can't defend him anymore, absolute poopshow between the pipes and Malkin can start making simple plays to get the puck out anytime.
Isles fans- Good win no need to rub it in. Taken a couple name callers out already and when I get back from the bar I won't hesitate to take more.

I gave up after game 2. There is a reason for bad team play. Inconsistent goaltending will cause bad play by the rest of the team. |

Depending on the cost, I'd look a Miller for a year.
Hopefully we have something between Zatikoff and Hartzell.... - rival22

folks just another reminder.
it is easy for us to blame MAF. but lets look at the details. In 2008 and 2009 under Therrein and a Therrein trained team, MAF was magic. When Bylsma's system took over, MAF was horrible.
Bylsma's system is a system for a team like New York Rangers. They have a world class goalie, who IMO has demonstrated that he has resolve and can put the team on his back. MAF doesn't have those traits. He needs a team to play defense in front of him. He cant bail you out and win your 1-0 games.
MAF is responsible, but Bylsma is just as, if not more responsible for those postseason failures.
It might be popular to hate Bylsma now, but remember, this isn't a kneejerk reaction from me, I have never liked him and have been calling for his head for a long time... cant remember the other poster who was always with me on that... bartley maybe? |

Pittsburgh isn't trading Letang to the Rags. It's utterly stupid. Use some logic. You aren't.
How about the Rags trading Nash to Pittsburgh for Niskanen, Kennedy, a second and a tier B prospect? Even if that is fair, which it isn't, do you believe your idiot GM would do that deal with Pittsburgh. You are a fool if you think he would - for the same reason Shero trading Letang to the Rags. - Oneonta Penguin

With a little luck this series should be 3-1 Isles.

so you expect another norris finalist for letang? you have to remember that these star players never get what they're truly worth (look at nash and gaborik trades).
what about girardi + 2nd for letang? - rangerdanger94
The difference with those 2 is Nash demanded a trade and had a short list he'd go to this limiting the potential return. And gaborik is overpaid. Letang has 1 year left and a new team will get to negotiate his extension, not be saddled with a bloated contract they didn't offer. Not saying Letang gets you a Norris finalist. Just likely better return than the 2 you mention |

Kings don't have the assets to add with Bernier for Malkin. - Oneonta Penguin
Why would they, they are 10 times better as a playoff team. |

agreed 100%. Penguins are an older and slower team. can't match up vs the speed.
but if we can rebound and take out NY and Boston can wrap up Toronto, I think we have a good path to the Cup given the matchups. |

It's not that simple, most if the other 18 guys on the ice have been pretty piss poor too. |
