The proposal is to trade from a position of strength, which I assume to be one of the super kids (Hall, Ebs, Yak, RNH, JSch) for a lesser-skilled player + to fill a need (big 2LW, 1-2D, G). Typically the team who receives the best player is thought to "win" a trade. Trading away who you know to be the better player in a deal means you need to receive a massive overpayment to make it worth it (and "win" the trade), especially if you don't really need to move the better player.
To me, the Oilers position of strength currently is the right wing, and Hemsky has insufficient trade value to get what we want. That means Ebs or Yak, and in a hypothetical situation I'm partial to keeping Yak.
So MacT needs to get one good big 2LW, 1-2D or G, and needs to get at least another good prospect who is big 2LW, 1-2D or G and then a first to make it worth it, and I do mean good players, not plugs. A team would have to be very deep where we need them to be for this to work.
So yes, I'm suggesting a huge overpayment for Eberle cause that's the only way I would accept it and the only way MacT would. He said so himself, no one is untouchable, meaning that a huge overpayment for a superkid would not be out of the question.

Problem is EDM doesn't really have an area of strength. Unless #6 D men counts.
EDM's offense is so hyped yet they struggle to get 25 shots a night. Trading one of the 2 1RWs they have(Yak or Ebs) would hopefully bring in the stud D man they need, but they'd also be losing offence that they desperately need.
What are we trying to get that we can't get by UFA? Horton is killing in the playoffs. Striet who has a connection with our coach just got 4 points tonight. Then we need to fill the back end and there are several good UFA's for that. Big tough guys that can skate. Bickel would be my target if Stalberg wants too much. Then all we need to do is get enough from Hemsky and everything else to get us a 2-4 dman. If klefbom turns out we can part with Smid or Schultz to also get pieces (maybe picks) to use to with picks from hemsky to get the dman we need. Will we have to over pay. Sure. Striet might give us a deal if we go long term.
Rumour is, he wants 3 but if we keep him till he is 40 (5 years he might do 4 mill a year). Horton we can sign for 6 mil two years. That is a good offer for a guy with concussion problems. He can either prove himself or not. By then, this years draft pick or Paajarvi should be ready to take his place. - bsteinley
Horton won't want to sign in EDM. Also he just put up nearly .5PPG. I'm wouldn't throw 6M at him.
Why would Streit want to go to edmonton? Because he knows Krueger? Highly unlikely, especially with his team doing decently in the playoffs.

It's my favourite right now. I couldn't tell you if you'd like it as the show is aimed towards young adults and youth, but I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot. - MaximumBone

Well that is cool, cause he is probably like 78 but as an Asian looks 40 years younger. Asians are a lot like gingers. We don't age the same as the "normies" and everyone is always saying we look all alike within our individual groups. Asians however can get sun. We are still working on that.
