Congrats to Bob for the Veznia Nomination.
And jeers to us for changing our Goalie Philosophy immediately after we finally got a goalie with promise, and he then struggled... - flyler
And congratulations to Kris Letang, showing off that Norris trophy nominee form, in cross checking an official.

Despite the inevitable uproar here, I'd like to see Bob take some hardware home. - BulliesPhan87
i'd be thrilled for him. kid is a very, very good goalie. shame we can't just let a kid breathe and find his way. and you know, maybe...MAYBE this team would have found it's way into the post season with Bob playing the way he did this year. |

Well we also got Coots & Voracek out of you guys and I know he was horrible the last 3 years but Steve Mason looks like he's coming around back to his Rookie season form. I looks like what we should have really done is traded Goalie Coaches. But yeah we are upset, haven't you read those posts? |

Well, I'd give it another season (one of full length, at that) before I start making comparisons to Hasek. But there's some outrage, and if Bob takes hom the Vezina it'll really kick up.
That said, the Flyers totally gave up on him. - BulliesPhan87
i don't think they gave up on him so much as felt they needed a more known quantity immediately to win now. either way, it was a mistake. i felt so then, and think the same now. his athleticism, quickness, lateral mobility and work ethic were as plain as day from the moment he got here. he just needed more experience, and time to adapt to the pro game as well as north america. could he end up being a flash in the pan as many others have been? maybe. but i truly don't think he will. |

I just hope management/ownership learned something from this whole Bob/Bryz thing. |

plenty are pissed. to be fair, we've gotten voracek who's really soldified his game here. and if mason can become the rookie he was (and looked outstanding in his end of the season opportunity), the flyers will be in good shape. |

really hoping that London (Stolartz), Portland (Leier) and Baie-Comeau (Straka) can find their way into the Memorial cup. would be very cool to see that many Flyers prospects participate. Right now London and Baie-Comeau are down 2 games to 1 in their respective finals and Portland leads 2 games to 1.

Only if the forwards found the back of the net -- and their own defensive zone, too. |

I hope he can read other coaches' minds. Would come in handy. |

Don't tell us that! We want to have it both ways -- praise the kids and complain about Bob.

I would say that Akeson has the size, style, and skill set of......Jon Sim. That's who he reminds me of. We'll see if there is a difference in the future. - MJL

I wonder if Bryz would be as highly criticized as he is if he were an American goalie who spoke well? |

hopefully we can get full value for moving him, including mason regaining his form. ultimately, it could prove to be a tremendous move. |

MAF is FC and speaks pretty well. he's getting hammered pretty good right now about now. then again, he did help them win a cup, so.... |

I believe if the Flyers had a better backup, it would've maybe brought in at least 4 to 5 more wins and they would be in the playoffs.
My biggest issue once again with this team is the amount of injuries they compile. They cannot recover when they get a few key player injuries versus what we have seen with other teams. Then add into some key people are knicked up and still play because they have too and want too. In a indirect way that hurts the teams too. |

If he was a bit quicker, a bit faster, and a bit more explosive (likely a product of lacking both of the quickness and speed) he would be an elite player, up top with Crosby and Stamkos. Hes a close notch below, but his skill is right there with them. - jak521
Whatever margin there is between Stamkos and Tavares can probably be accounted for by the stark quality difference in teammates. Tavares doesn't have a St. Louis to feed him pucks and a Lecavalier to take some of the defensive pressure off him -- with all due respect to P.A. Parenteau/Boyes and Frans Nielsen, they're a big step down from what Stamkos is accustomed to working with.
Crosby's in a league of his own -- nobody's even within spitting distance. |

Not even the reborn Ovechkin? I'd take OV over Crosby at this point considering their respective injury histories. |

He's not in Philly. He's in Pittsburgh. If Pittsburgh were half the hockey-crazy town Philly is, Randy Miller and Tim Panaccio would work in their hometown. |

I agree 100% about Crosby. He is a true generational talent... Malkin and Stamkos' of the league next... then Tavares.
I love the way JT plays the game.. kid has no quit in him. When he tied it up last night I was with a bunch of my hockey buddies.. I said "He's gonna score here.. watch" Im not Nostradamus.. you can just see him taking over. |
