There's only two active NHL coaches that I would consider dumping Lavi for... and it looks like one of them might be available this summer. - Tomahawk
Probably won't happen, but I'd be pumped |

I'd prefer Greg Ireland, Steve Spott, or Dallas Eakins - ob18
I wonder if Guy Boucher doesnt land another job fairly soon. I was surprised how quickly he was given the axe considering (in my idiot opinion) the general lack of depth he had in Tampa.

Going with new blood is the move du jour, but I was just talking within the current active fraternity. |

He paid the price for Yzerman's failures. |

Right after i posted my comment, I googled his name and I saw him mentioned for the Colorado job. So, to answer my own question: it probably won't be a long wait. |

But his facial expressions were worth the price of admission!

I was thinking fresh blood instead of a retread style move. |

I do feel he got a bit of a raw deal. I'd be open to a variety of coaches if Laviolette walked the plank. |

Retreads aren't necessarily bad. Of the last 5 Cup winners, 4 were in their second NHL job or more.
Darryl Sutter, Claude Julien, Joel Quenneville and Mike Babcock. The lone guy in his first NHL gig was Bylsma |

Nobody implements defensive lock-down, and hard to play against, better than Tippett... not to mention he's got that secret bag of fairy dust that turns average goalies into titans. |

Yeah but his teams only seem to score two or three times a week. |

I'd like a Coach that can take the best of what an aggressive puck pressure Coach like Laviolette brings. And the best of, as you aptly described it ,defensive lock down and hard to play against attributes of Tippett. And find middle ground.

Nah, they've been consistently middle of the pack in scoring despite playing a conservative system and being really thin on talent. |

I'm so glad I have Bill's blog to come back to. Skimming other threads scared me. I wouldn't be around with out the special insanity you guys stink the place up with. Some of the other threads devolve rapidly. *cowers behind Jsaq - even if he is waiting for bikini season* |

I thought they had a year where no one scored 20 goals, the nearest I could find was 2009/2010: Vrbata had 24 goals, no one else was above 20. Upshall was tied for 3rd on the team with 18 and he only played 49 games that year.
The last couple years they've been a little more prolific in the scoring department.
