I don't care much for his delivery either. For my money, Sam Rosen is the man. - John Jaeckel
Sam Rosen and John Davidson were the best announce team at one point. I say that even as a huge fan of Pat Foley. |

If you mean yesterday's, talk about a guy who doesn't get it. To claim the Canucks have accomplished way more than the Sharks have in the last five years is laughable. One Finals appearance, that's it. That's all I count anyway and I think most of the posters here would also not care about Presdient's trophies or individual hardware.
At the end of the day, one SCF appearance amounted to a loss so in my eyes that makes them and SJ even.
Yes and all the whining about refs and the disparity in penalties; good stuff! |

I don't get why so many people are excited to see Gillis and AV fired. I wish to see that level of incompetence remain firmly entrenched within the Canucks organization. |

Sam has a great delivery and he knows the game and all the players in the league, and he is not a total homer either. |

What I just posted on Ian's "B@stards" blog. Just in case I get banned.
How any Sharks fan/blogger can call anyone a "pretender" is beyond me. Have a little respect; these guys have accomplished a hell of a lot more than the San Jose Sharks have over the past five years.
What we see is the Canucks accomplished the exact same thing as the Sharks the last 5 years: 0 championships.
2011? What does 2nd place mean? The first loser. Especially after being up 2-0 in the series, then choking it away by putting up the goose-egg in game 7 ... on home ice.
Maybe "pretender" wasn't the right word. How about "choker"? A notably better regular season team buckled under the pressure of the playoffs. A coaching staff not being able to properly prepare the players. And several players not being prepared to "bring it" in each game.
The mindset put out by some folks in Vancouver is a prime reason why so many others around the league dislike that brand; even many folks in CANADA.
A team, any player and especially an organization just cannot be "given respect". They have to "earn respect". And clearly the Canucks have not done that. Not this year. Or in any of the past 5 years.
Perhaps a less incendiary approach would go a little further with many of your readers. |

I understand where you are comming from - I love to see the ignorance of that organization. I am just afriad that if AV is still coaching there, we WILL see another Bertuzzi incident. That is the only reason he should not be coaching. |

The lack of animosity plus the way the Wild fall back so much makes it hard to look good/intense while playing, so far they've gotten the job done. They're probably going to have the best goal differential of any team in the first round - rollpards19
Let's look a little closer...
The Wild are the worst 5 on 5 team in the playoffs and have the worst goal differential of anyone in the West who made the post season.
Considering their key injuries etc....The Hawks have done what was needed but haven't played close to their best.
They will have to crank it up a few notches against anyone else.

Exactly. They haven't been close to their best. I'm not sure who is in net tonight but if it is that 3rd stringer again, they better light him up. I actually expect hawks to crap bed again tonight like they always do but win in minny in game 6 like they always do. Hawks never make it easy on themselves |

I was thinking (try not to do that much but sometimes it happens) about why Toews is not denting the scoresheet. I'm thinking it is 2 parts. First, the Wild have played a strong game in clogging up the Hawks (they did it in almost every game this year). Second, With Bolland out, I am wondering if CAPT Serious feels he has to be more of a Selke player and focus on shutting down the Wild players, a job normally filled by the rat. Not sure, but early morning ramblings |

For many reasons it is best to end this tonight...and hope at least one of the other series goes 7.
There is no excuse to not finish this tonight.

Who are you rooting for? For us to play and also between LA and St. Louis? St. Louis just tied it. So much OT hockey this year. Gotta love it - tomcat24
So hard for myself to even gauge who i want to play. Pros/cons vs every potential foe. Jeremy Roenick tweeted that this is the best Sharks team he's ever seen so take that FWIW. Think we'll face the Sharks though IF we close out Minny.

Nashville North and their Jr.B Coach will give it a good effort tonight and clog up the neutral zone as much as possible. Get the lead early and play like they did in Game 4 and it should be over tonight.
I think the Kings have broken the Blues and I'd be surprised if the Wings can pull off 2 in a row. I think the Hawks are looking at the Sharks next. |

I think you need to evaluate the best matchups based upon two things - which teams play the least physical style, and which teams have the weaker goalies. Smells like the Wings and the Blues to me.
SJ and LAK are not good matchups, but I would say that the sooner the Hawks get a matchup with one of these teams the sooner the debate over whether Stan and Co. have built a team that can go all the way will be resolved. |

Sharks started grt then crashed, righted the ship and have been a roll the last 5 weeks. They seem a quicker team then when the hwks played then. There pp was awful in Feb/Mar...but they have turned that around.
I think either the wings or sharks are a decent match-up for the hawks....however Niemi in goals makes me very very nervous. |

This. Few things would make me happier than to see those two get 25-year contract extensions. |
