And if we are relying on net presence from the Hawks to be a factor.....
Very much agree - SJ a much different and better team. - Return of the Roar
San Jose is different than our last playoff meeting but so are we so it unrealistic to draw any comparisons from 2010.
During the 2013 regular season we went 3 - 0 agains the Sharks (5-3, 4-1 and 2-1). I know that's no indicator of playoff success, but it shows we would match up well against San Jose.
I remember the 5-3 game, that was a wild one. San Jose had 2 early 2 goal leads (2-0 and 3-1) but the boys stormed back for the 2 points. |

My worries from this matchup are more along the lines of being goaded into bad penalties by what will be a high ratched up physical start to the series, which when combined with Niemi (in spite of my respect for Corey) in net when it counts, and the non-existent power play would be a really bad combo.
Could see the Hawk D getting burned up early in games killing penalties and being checked into next week. |

I understand where you are comming from - I love to see the ignorance of that organization. I am just afriad that if AV is still coaching there, we WILL see another Bertuzzi incident. That is the only reason he should not be coaching. - powerenforcer

While the Sharks aren't pushovers they're not overly physical either, at least they're nothing we can't handle.
If we're looking at the defense of each team I think we stack up a lot better than they do. We can role 3 D-pairings rather well, even if Keith and Seabrook may not be playing at the top of their game. San Jose's defense is slow and aside from Boyle there's not a lot of talent. They have some decent guys in Vlasic and Stuart but they're not game breakers. |

The Wild's goalie situation is so odd. Why was Backstrom able to dress in game 4 after Harding went out but he's not dressing tonight? What happened to Harding that he couldn't finish game 4 but he's ok now? |

My first reaction - Mike Smith all over again. Fake injury, then be fine. Once the 2nd period started, I knew I was wrong. |

Russo's reporting he didn't look too strong at practice... kept getting up slowly. We're (frank)ed, regardless. Might as well end this misery with a 9-1 loss

I want this to end tonight! As much as last game was JJ's test, I think this is as much of a statement game that the Hawks have the will to close a team out when they have them against the ropes. Cap's Serious wants the same.
Also, welcome back TruGrit! |
