I tell ya, let me go a little 'Lemieux' here and say this league has no integrity when it comes to officiating. When a player can ram another players head repeatedly into the ice without so much as a warning, a player attacks an official without a warning, then calls like that last two, it's beyond pathetic. |

Can wait for 2 days of people debating (read: arguing) the possibility of starting Poulin in game 6. - eichiefs9
No way they would even consider that |

Nabokov is having a terrible series. - potvin05
He's having a DiPietro series- the kind where people used to argue with me that it wasn't all his fault, and our defense was cr*p.....and I'd ask how one might be able to figure that out.....when EVERY shot goes into the net.... |

My first instinct is to agree with you.
But Nabokov has barely under a 5.00 GAA in this series and has let up some real terrible goals. It can't possibly get any worse. I'm not necessarily saying I want them to do it, but it wouldn't be the worst move ever. It really can't get any worse than what Nabokov has done. |

Terrible is an understatement. You still have to go with him next game though. Can't go with Poulin just yet. Isles need to really think about goaltending situation in the offseason. I was a huge fan of Nabby this season but his playoffs are just horrific.
I hate the fact that we might get shut out. Vokoun playing really well. I had a feeling that was gonna happen. Need to forget this game and come back strong at the old barn. |

It'd be a desperate move that would most likely backfire, but I wouldn't be mad at all if they tried it. Unfortunately, we don't have a Vokoun sitting on the bench waiting to jump in and relieve our sieve. |

No.....Nabokov just has to get his sh*t together, or else we're not winning anyway. I'm proud of this team, though- they've fought the good fight thus far. They just need a few more pieces to finish the puzzle, and this will be the off-season to make that happen. Hopefully, we can at least win another one....but first they're going to have to get A puck past Vokoun....the longer that goes, the harder it gets... |

what kills me is the referees totally let the Penguins take out their frustrations in the 3rd of the last game. Now we are behind in they're going to police everything to the T. . |

They're not going to start Poulin. End that story right (frank)ing now.

Not staying so to not be seen as piling on. Just one thought...What a bizarre-o series. Great hockey combined with horrible officiating and goaltending.
Be well. See you Saturday.

another confusing personnel decision by Cappy. Rather than sticking with what has worked he reacts to the Penguins line changes by getting smaller and faster. The result is the Islanders getting physically beat around all night.
I know Carkner technically sucks but I very much would have liked to have had his size and grit tonight. |

You're right. DiPietro is currently selecting music for his comeback montage and will get the call. |

Speed didn't work, so he'll probably be back. I would think Hickey sits. |

I don't know who the hell nicknamed Murray "Crankshaft", but I see the Pens bloggers constantly calling him that on twitter. Literally sounds like the name of a gay bar. Worst nickname ever. |
