Also, I'd really like to know which players, if any, do have issues with Bryz, whether personal or hockey-related. It was reported by Bill that some players off-record had said some things. There was also rumblings of Bryz having issues with Laviolette as well, which I don't see based on the way Lavi talks about Bryz.
Interesting note though, for anyone in the Toronto area, you know that former Hurricane and Leaf Jeff O'Neil does game-day stuff on TSN 1050AM. O'Neil said that he and Lavi didn't get along at all and that there was constant issues between the two. O'Neil also said that Lavi has a huge ego, and was not willing to find middle-ground on some issues. Wonder if it was only O'Neil or if Lavi may be a hard coach to play under for certain types of players? |

Now that I figured out what the phrase "begging the question" really means (assuming one's first point to be true), I realize how infested with it this place is. |

I agree, the local media seems vaguely obsessed with him because he came in here with a reputation as a good quote. The Barkann stuff, trying to get Bryz to sound like Borat was pretty awful and frankly, I kinda lost respect for Barkann because of that the same way I lost respect for guys like Mike Missannelli for his remarks about the Flyers and Flyers fans over the years.
But again, Bryz can't control all that. Just worry about stopping the puck.
Is there a single fan that would care if Bryz froze out the media? Probably not.
Beat writers will complain about it, but fans, at the end of the day, really don't care if professional athletes talk to the media or not. - johndewar
It's important to note that he has to be available to the media during the season on a number of occasions. The organization tried to shut it down, and the PHWA challenged that policy successfully. Bryz gave pretty disinterested answers for a lot of the time since, and what happens? Sleepgate 2013 is published, via an alleged locker room leak. Bryz doesn't even have to engage them to have drama spun.
So, when a guy feels pushed to the edge, and feels he must speak his mind, on a personal level I'm not going to blame him. Sometimes you have to push back. Even if, as a fan, I wish it weren't this way. |

If that really strikes you, don't look down the rest of the list of logical fallacies. I don't want you having an aneurysm or anything. |

The same gullible fans that believe everything the beats say will continue to do so. So even shutting off the beats won't solve this situation. Only winning will.
EDIT: Even that won't solve it, when one considers the "relationship" between Pronger & Panaccio before Pronger got hurt. |

After baby is born, I'm going to read HB posts to him/her. I figure s/he will turn into either Bill Meltzer (a reasonable and sober minded critic of the game) or a combo of... Others. |

You're right.
His combined save percentage in 99 games in .902. His goals-against average is 2.61.
The media has nothing to do with those numbers. Nothing. |

I remember I loathed the play of Randy Robitaille. His loathing was surpassed only by Mike "Hard to believe I was once on something called the FLY line" York. |

By my count, there are only 11 such No. 1 defensemen in the NHL. My list (in no particular order): Weber, Suter, Duncan Keith, Brian Campbell, Drew Doughty, Zdeno Chara, Erik Karlsson, Keith Yandle, Mike Green, Dustin Byfuglien, Kris Letang. Whether you'd like to include Jay Bouwmeester, Dion Phaneuf or even Jack Johnson is your prerogative
Frank thinks Brian Campbell, Yandle, Green & Byfuglien are number one defensemen. This is kinda what Bryz means when he says there's media guys that don't understand the game.
Frank deals in half-assed speculation. Nashville isn't trading Weber, and if they do, the Flyers would likely be the last team they move him to. The cost would likely gut the team's depth. - Jsaquella
i want to punch him in the (frank)ing face for that piece of (frank)ing poop "article" he wrote on bryz this morning. twitterverse pushed me to read it. i can't stand the people covering the team i love - always inserting themselves into the fabric of the team and just making everything worse. i don't understand it. how does frank's personal opinion the flyer should cut him loose get printed as a story? wtf is that?
he says in the story following the team you learn a lot and then says he doesn't really know what goes on behind closed doors? this article makes me so mad there aren't enough words to explain it.

tu quoque is rampant as well
Tu Quoque is a very common fallacy in which one attempts to defend oneself or another from criticism by turning the critique back against the accuser. This is a classic Red Herring since whether the accuser is guilty of the same, or a similar, wrong is irrelevant to the truth of the original charge. However, as a diversionary tactic, Tu Quoque can be very effective, since the accuser is put on the defensive, and frequently feels compelled to defend against the accusation.
