For all the talk about Fluery being bad, which he has been, Nabby has been equally as bad. He has been bad all season against the Pens. I think Poulin has a chance to be the future for you guys, but to throw him into the biggest game for the Isles in the past 5 or 6 years would be asking a lot. Tough situation to be in for you guys. As for Vokoun, don't know why he has played so well against the Isles. - cap1681

this is spot on. next season is going to be interesting. I think they need to bring in one solid stay at home dman who can replace streit. I also feel barring a horrible camp that Matt Donovan needs a role on this team. I'm not saying he would match Streit point for point but i do feel he can put up 25 points and play solid bottom pairing minutes. i truely feel either Pedan or mayfield or both will be able to challenge for a job in 2014-2015. - NYI78
Of the two, Pedan sees to be the more agressive... |

As Cyndi Lauper would say, "I see your true colors". That was a disgrace.
Lucky for us, true choking doesn't produce much sound. Otherwise, it would be loud in here.

So who are we playing in round 2?
Sorry, getting a little doom and gloom here, figured I'd try some optimism
Just a couple of things to keep in mind...it's Vokoun...not an electric perimeter fence that disintegrates pucks on contact. He can be beaten, and has been beaten plenty of times before.
We may have lost Frans Nielsen...not John Tavares. Folks will have to step up, but plenty of folks have already stepped up in this series. They can overcome this. They're in this series because of how they've played as a team against a far more skilled opponent; not because any one player they have has shut down or out-skilled the Pens.

Maybe......
The Pens signed Eric Hartzell, who was the best goalie in the NCAA this past year and has potential. Many speculated that if Fleury had a bad playoffs, (which so far he is having) that Penguins brass may ride Vokoun for the next couple of years while Hartzell develops, and let Fleury go. It's all speculation, but you never know. |

Make an offer, his value is at an all time high! He comes with a 2009 cup dvd so you can see how good he was a one point, a few years ago |

Well, if that Cyndi Lauper quote sums up the Isles, I guess Crosby and the Pens would be "Girls just wanna have fun?" |

Not Mont who we should have faced in the first round.
No doubt we will have to go through Boston in the second round. Once we dispatch with the Pens the B's should be a walk in the park.

Capuano probably wanted a veteran to lead this young team going into the season. Once the team got hot the last 5 weeks of the season, I think it would have been a distraction to change captains mid-year.
It's just a guess. Streit is probably a goner after the season is over, unless he fuels some kind of run to the Conference Finals or beyond, so we will undoubtedly have a new captain next year. You're right though, this team belongs to Tavares, with "A"s going to Okposo and Hamonic. - potvin05
I would have JT as Captain, Hamonic and Casey as the Assistants. |

That game reminded me of Game 1 of this series but we all remembered what happened in game 2 I am hoping for a better effort. The Islanders have to find Vokouns weakness and expose every goalie has one. They need better quality shots and they need to hit a little bit more they got away from that last night.
Oh and for Crappy umm why touch a line up that is working?? I swear the guy has no knowledge of this sport. Put Ullstrom back in with Carkner and sit Hickey for MArtinek. Is that so hard to comprehend??
If the series is over after Saturday at least we did a lot better than everyone thought and it was a great learning experience. Just hope we can make it next year |

Their true colors, is in they suck. Can't win the big one. Choked. No good. Need to get better. Also rans.

I think the Isles have far surpassed anything that any of the fans had thought they could. Really. There are some teams out, already that were the division leaders. The Nucks and Habs are very jealous, and I am sure the Leafs will be as well, after tonight. |

One thing i am tired of seeing is anytime they put some guys stat line up from the opposing team there is always a little note on the bottom that says...most vs any other team in the league. |

Since when does a 8th seed losing to a first seed... or better yet a 16th seed losing to the second seed = a choke?
Are you new to sports?
