Ice is definitely tilted toward the Kings end, bur I don't see the Blues getting a ton of chances for it. A lot of gumming it up on the middle and a lot of the Blues having to play from the edges and hope that something opens up in the middle - which isn't happening. |

And as I got ready to type that, the Kings spend about a minute and a half in the Blues end with pretty good pressure - and Carter is inexplicably left uncovered. Thankfully, the cross-ice pass wasn't close or he would have had Elliott lined up. |

CPR line making things happen again but missing that extra bit of skill to finish it off. To be fair, how that second chance stays out probably is all you need to know about how this series has gone and will go. |

Elliott makes the save on Brown's breakaway chance, after Polak gakks it up. The funny part was Brown thinking he got shoved into the net, when in reality he more or less tripped over Elliott's pads.
The way he deked there, I was worried it was going in. |

No f-ing way ... just wow. Want to guess who that puck deflected off of before it went over Elliott's shoulder? (Hint: go pull up the post before your last one; use it liberally here.) |

BAD Elliott. - BerglundsGrundle
I mean holy (frank)ing poop that is embarrassing. Typical of the Blues. When they have a brain fart, they do it all the way. What a joke.

That puck was headed straight for Elliott before it went off Polak's stick and deflected up. Without that, he almost certainly makes the save because it hits him square; with it, ... |

Sorry to bring religion into this or another religion other than Hockey, but this is proof that there is no god. (Or if there is, he/she/it really has it in for the Blues.)
Another year off my life. This team is going to be the death of me.
Love the Blues to the end!

On a serious note, Bergy is playing like my daughter at a fireworks show. Scared out of his mind and definitely does not want the puck or to be anywhere near it. Can we bench him now and put Taresenko in for him for the 3rd? |

FSN's look sucked and Panger said more than once it was a clear look so mea culpa.

That entire final 10 seconds looks terrible in hindsight. Already, I see "Stewart should have knocked Penner down" and "Backes needed to be smarter with the puck." The latter is probably true, he could (should) have made a better play than try to throw it down the middle of the ice - especially when he had McDonald coming across and space in front of him had he dished it. The former? I don't know that Stewart had enough of an angle and enough momentum to actually knock Penner down, I'd have to study the video several times to decide.
Yes, that was a goal Elliott couldn't afford to allow ... and yes, in hindsight he probably should have been farther out of the net - but Polak also needed to either get the hell out of the way of that shot or lay out and take away the low shot so that Elliott could concentrate on whatever came up high, not just hang his stick out there like he was trying to avoid touching roadkill. |

Polak has been terrible the last few games. Both goals tonight are essentially his responsibility. Ugh. How in the h e double hockey sticks do you not know to just step aside and let your goale make the save on a clean view from basically 60 feet out? |

FIrst email i sent was to a buddy that said something like dumb puck management by Backes and terrible play by Stewart. Why is he even trying to knock Penner down? There is no need to knock Penner down, you just need to essentially tie him up/stay in front of him so he can't get a clean shot off. No need for a big hit with a couple of seconds left. It's like a d-man just burying a puck on the boards in his feet to kill a few seconds at the end of the period. It's just the smart play. |

Why do I fear I am going to have Jon Casey nightmares tonight? Way to eery in similarity in some ways. |

Kid line has a roughly 0 compete level. Hopefully changes to that effect come this summer, my handle be damned. |

Much different scenario. That team had a chance. That team had how many future HOFers? How many you think this team has? (hint: 0) |

The way we've missed chances, I'd swear someone ordered up a curse on the Blues sticks.
The Blues have good effort at times, and then at others they simply look like they have no idea how to defend the Kings under pressure. 10 minutes to find a goal, or the Blues move to the offseason portion of the 2012-13 season. |
