Nabby sucked and isn't an elite goalie...I'd trade a pick and Nino and get Bernier...did you see Quick last night...he kept the Kings in the game until the vets on the team took over... - kear20
I'd have no desire to trade Nino. He should be on JT's wing. |

Al is average at best. He and his 2.90 gaa would never have seen the ice either during this series. The Isles were married to Nabby no matter who was on the bench. - keaner17
Avg is better then what we had... hence.. Ill take Avg over what we had.

The Leafs almost mirror you guys exactly. The have more consistent goaltending. I want Boston to take them out quickly tomorrow. - Oneonta Penguin
I don't think so- you guys are just good...if you played the Leafs, you'd have dropped them in four. You're welcome for us forcing your coach to figure out that MAF is atrocious, because if you played Toronto, you'd have won 4 straight- 10-4, 8-4, 10-4, and 6-0. Your coach wouldn't have figured it out until Ottawa pummeled you in the first game of round 2. Reimer is the kind of goalie who makes my solar plexus burn (see DiPietro, Rick, in your hockey encyclopedia). |

If they do trade Nino, it better be part of a package for a player who is already what we hope he will become...a true scoring power winger. Anything else...I don't think I'd part with him. |

Thing is, they're already potting four every night, with the waiver pickups and lower tier players they signed. They need big, strong mobile defensemen and goaltending. If I can get a goalie of Bernier's caliber by only moving one of the two top end offensive prospects, I have to do that. |

As i said, he would have never seen the ice. It took us 3/4 of the season to get Reasoner off the ice, I seriously doubt Montoya would get the call over Nabby in a playoff game |

I don't care who owns the team...as long as it gets funded as it should. To me, they did exactly what they should have done for the last 7 years. That is over now- time to step up to the plate. |

I'm willing to bet our ownership is more than willing to allow things to continue to grow organically. They're not going to look for any quick fixes we have those defenseman in our system as well as two potential goaltenders. If they can sign someone by free agency then fine but don't expect a large-scale trade. We are already a playoff team and we have the assets in the house to eventually become a contender. |

Nope, Toronto gives us fits every time they play us for the same reason you seem to. Reimer is the ONLY reason Toronto is still alive. He has come a long way. You have a Reimer in net, you aren't an eight seed in these play-offs.
We are good? We were exposed by an eighth seed badly in these play-offs. We have some issues to correct. Good thing though, Ottawa doesn't have your speed; your skill level or your transition game. |

Montoya is cr*p. Unless you could have gotten a BETTER STARTING goaltender with NHL playoff experience, Nabokov was your only choice in that series, period. |

But the forward needs are still there...They still need a winger for Tavares. And Nielsen, by his own admission, still isn't a true second-line center. If they fill those positions from within, it very well could be Nino and Strome growing into those roles over the next couple of seasons. |

Ya know.. if not for their fans, I would be rooting for the Leafs to come out of the east, they have a nice young team alot like ours & they are fun to watch..... but that fan base makes it hard to root for them.

We have the largest fanbase and there's good and bad over there. It's like that in all fanbases. We just have more and it magnifies the problem. I can enjoy the Islanders, when they put up such a valiant fight. Same goes for the Sens, although they are one of our two bitter rivals. It's good to see new blood challenge for the first time in a while. You get sick of seeing the same old teams competing every year. I was glad to see the Flyers take a seat, as well as the Devils. Red Wings need a seat too, but they just keep rolling along. Columbus will be a team to watch, next year. |

They might not have the speed / or offensive skill but they do have 2 pretty good goalies and a pretty good all around team defense. |

a little late to the party, but I gotta throw in my 2 cents.
I respect any team in the playoffs, but I just gained a TON of respect for your team and fans.
islanders came into this series obviously predicted to have a quick exit. they got pummeled in game 1 and most thought that was it. the players could have said screw it, lets enjoy the experience, try to win 1 for our fans and head into the offseason.
instead, your coach made adjustments and the islanders became a playoff hockey team that utilized their strengths and attacked the other team's weakness. out of the 6 games, they probably outplayed the penguins in 4 games. but this is probably one of the most important lessons they will learn from the playoffs. just because you outplay your opponent, doesn't mean you win. execution is the key in a playoff series. had the islanders PP been better, this series would have been over. islanders never gave up and battled to the final goal.
I now have great respect for what the islanders did. now it's on the ownership and management. they have something brewing here. they can decide to push this team back 2 steps and save money, or go out and get that big name guy to give them an edge. given the islanders division next year, it will be tough. but they are a great story.
I know you guys have some ownership/location problems. and trust me, been through that. some of the darkest days came when no one knew what would happen to the penguins. the stories, reports, rumors of us moving all took a toll. it worked out for us in the end and I hope it does for you guys too. sounds like the move to Brooklyn will be a good thing.
wish you guys the best down the road. glad to see playoff hockey return and hope to see stable ownership emerge.

exactly. If we've learned anything about our ownership and gm, they actually do have a plan and are more than patient when it comes to sticking to it. This team has just introduced itself to the world. Soon Strome, Nino, Reinhart, Nilsson and a few others will all do the same |
