Lou, this right here was the number one issue in those last few minutes of the game... - Flyfreaky
Well...the non-call kept Lucic available for that last push. |

How do you draw blood on two separate infractions, and not even get 2 minutes?
I'm not blaming the Refs for the loss- the Leafs had the game in control despite that crap... but how do you let a team get away with so many blatant attempts to injure?
Kelly broke JVR's nose with an elbow. And it's not like it was follow through or anything. I forget who it was that got his stick on Grabo, but he had a gash under his eye from that. Gotta get poop like that outta the game. - Feeling Glucky?
Kelly should be suspended for that. Blatant attempt to injure. No different than Ference on Grabovski IMO.

Hard loss to swallow, however (despite what that (frank)-nut Cox writes) the future of the team looks brighter than it has in the past 20 years.
After this series, I am really happy with the core of this team going forward. The one guy I question after this series is Phaneuf. However, it is really hard to make a judgement call on him, as the only real fault I can hold against him is that Carlye relied on him too much, and that he does not really have a true partner to play those top minutes with.
Let the trade and draft speculation begin for another off-season. I don't expect, and hope that not too many changes are made this summer. |

Lucic boarding on Gunnarsson? I don't see how Kelly's elbow doesn't get reviewed. The Refs lost control of that game early, and it got nasty in a hurry. - p_zub
refs missed calls both ways, i was surprised the lucic hit wasn't called
calling lucic only for when he pushed with phaneauf and then minutes later taking off campbell and grabovski when grabo did the same thing was a poop call too

Yes, and please, let's not rip apart all the players here, looking for goats. Phaneuf for all his gaffs, logs big minutes and was playing hurt; that was a team loss. You can't sit back with a lead, especially if you're the Leafs: attack is the best defense and we rolled over and died the last 10 minutes of the game. - gravyface
Not an excuse. If you're too injured to be effective, don't be a hero and get off the ice. He tried to be a hero, and had a generally miserable finish to the game. |

I gotta say, and I'm being really petty and juvenile here, but what's with Lucic's face? It's in permanent douchebag mode: that squinty furrowed brow, reminds me of the rapper kids that used to walk tough around the Mike's Mart back in the day. |

All in all for a game seven, I thought the refs did a great job of letting lots of sh*t go...But man, that boarding call had to be made... |
