Dion Phaneuf was dreadful and does not deserve that C on his chest - vancity787
He would be great as a #2 or #3 playing about 20 minutes a night and not being captain.
He is a disaster as a captain, playing 25+ minutes, 3 games in 4 nights.

Holy (frank). Lucic took total control of that game and people would rather a Booth or Horton over a Clarkson? Jesus. - honesthockey
I totally agree. I have to say that of all the Bruins, Lucic impressed me the most. He's straight ahead, honest player, and not a dirty little POS like Marchant. When his shot hit Fraser in the face, he acted like a sportsman and quickly went over to see how he was. The rest of the dirt little poope Bruins can shampoo my crotch. |

Uh no.
First time in playoff, GAME 7 history, blowing a 3 goal lead in the 3rd period.

I agree, as well. He is Burke's captain. I think, given Randy Carlyle's comments last night, at the very least, the C will be removed from Dion this off season. |

Leafs were without a doubt the quicker team. they were in control, but they stopped skating. they let boston back into the game. they stopped playing to their strength, and just gave it away. - burn
they were tired too, great game, great series, can't ever let up. |

Carlyle essentially said that in evaluating the players, the playoffs revealed that some players elevated their game and showed the coaching staff something extra, while others revealed that they were essentially what the coaches thought they were. |

Not sure I agree with you there, Freaky. Game 7 pressure exposes your flaws. The Leafs struggled all year playing with leads - in fact, they have repeatedly stopped playing all season when they get 2 goal leads. It happened again last night with a 3 goal lead. The lack of consistency in their game that was there all year was their fatal flaw. - fifty__missions

No they weren't. They stopped skating. Gave it to Boston......They stopped skating, that is how they "tried" to defend 3rd period leads all year.
They handed it away. |

The repeated icings were part of the problem. The Leafs had no answer in the faceoff circle last night. Bruins won 70% of the faceoffs last night, and all of them in the last 2 minutes. Recipie for disaster. |

His 42% in the playoffs was sorely missed.
EDIT: they played the first 2 1/2 periods starting without the puck, if they played their game they would have been fine. You cannot stop skating, and still be in it.
They had the momentum and allowed Boston back in it by letting off the gas pedal. |

Clarkson is gonna get overpaid, but there is no much, if anyone, available who would make a bigger impact.
