Thank you bruins. you silenced the facebook world. The world filled with bandwagoner 'be-leafers'. I actually think that I would of cheered for the leafs as a canadian team had it not been for the beyond obnoxious fans. These fans whom are beyond clueless to the fundamentals of the game. - Biggus Richardus
1) here i agree with you.....but facebook was even worse with the jays. Before the year everyone and their mom had pics of them at a jays game, i mean everyone. 3 weeks later you couldn't find a blue jays mention no matter how hard you tried
2) the habs have the most obnoxious fans out there pal - maybe save for the canucks. Dispute it all you want, you guys lost respect after your pathetic tactics against the sens. Just embarrasing. |

Appreciate it, but no, no, no. No problem with the hit, this series was a war. Leafs don't make excuses, that's for other teams. Lucic plays hard and i'd love to see him on the leafs. - clark_griswold
Yep. I was so happy when JVR got that elbow to the face with how he responded. Don't take a cheap shot, don't lie on the ground trying to play it up. Skate by the ref, show him the damage, and then get off the ice. Don't follow the ref around the ice whining, that's not how teams get respect, that's how teams get a negative reputation.
The Bruins are a tough as nails team and the Leafs proved they can play that style and wont be intimidated. Both teams had guys get injured this series, it was a war. Proper playoff hockey. |

Probably because he played teams like Montreal and Vancouver in series recently where he basically did what he wanted. He mentally intimidates teams. This series he threw a body check, we threw one back, he knocked Grabovski over 45 times, Grabovski got up 46 times.
It was a hell of a series, and I couldn't have asked for more from the Leafs against the Bruins.
I like how around the site I'm seeing Edmonton fans back to chirping about the leafs choking. I'd like to see the Oilers in the playoffs against the Bruins. Chara and Lucic would have their entire roster of forwards on the IR by game 3. |

I do have a concern after watching the B's last night. With Lucic, Horton and other big bodies and pests, why did it take until the end of the game for them to have someone stand in front of the net on the PP?
It really reminded me of the Oilers when their PP dropped this year, a bunch of guys who just want to either try make that pretty pass or beat the goalie with a wrist shot. Going forward someone has to be in front of the net. Lundqvist is on top of his game and in order to beat the Rags your PP has to be better and that isn't going to happen with guys just trying to beat him high with a wrist shot.
Just my 2 nickels. - Lahey

Hey, most of the true leafs fans were using this series as a measuring stick for where our team truly stands right now, and since the answer is "Game 7 OT against one of the best teams in the East" I'm pretty damned pleased. |

The Leafs made the mistake of letting up. I don't know if they were gassed or if it was a coaching call but they stopped forechecking. We've all seen our team do it too, they stop and the other team comes back.
TSN showed 8 examples in the 3rd period of the Leafs chipping the puck in and then not forechecking after it. They would back up to the redline and the Bruins would come screaming out of their zone. Just watch the play that leads up to Bergeron's goal. |

Yup. Refs put away the whistles last night, on both sides of the ice. Leafs fans recognize that. Nuks fans still think they won two years ago, Habs fans think they're entitled to have the cup handed to them out of respect for history, and buffalo complains about everything, cause, well, they live in Buffalo. |

I noticed Horton yesterday, he was there and then moved. If he would've stayed there whoever(krecji or bergeron) had the puck could've fired it on net for the rebound. Standing 3-4 feet away from the goalie with two defenders on you is as useless as viagra in an all girl school. |

The Leafs seemed to just capitalize in Bruin errors. The whole game they weren't really ever in control. |

Personally, I don't think today is the day to be ripping Claude. I don't always agree with his decisions or his outright refusal (or is it stubbornness) to change thing up when they aren't working, but the fact is Claude has absolutely earned the right to coach and manage games his way. Last night was another example. He stuck with all of his guys and in the end his faith was rewarded. Like it or not, Claude's way has worked well enough that he deserves the benefit of the doubt.....maddening as that may be. |

Or it worked so poorly that he could end it when he had the foot on the oppositions neck that he's defensive corps look like corpses. |

Yes because that's the issue at hand.
I'm cheering for the Bruins, but they need to be coached a lot better if they want to make it out of R2. I gave Julien credit for smart decision at the end of the game, but now that I think of it he wasn't even the guy drawing up the plan. |

exactly..that's why the leafs and bruins can beat the sh*t out of eachother and all you hear the players talking about is respect...no bitc*ing like in the habs or canucks series..seems it's awlays the same teams moaning...wierd - clark_griswold
Bingo! When you take an opponent to the wall, you should have a new found respect for the guts and determination it took to get there. Not cry for penalties or to the referees. No team, in any league is free of it but, I hate, absolutely DESPISE fans that cry for officials and penalties. I don't know. I'd like to just chalk it up to different fans and cities look at it differently. But, the sensationalizing and pining for penalties that's done by those two fan bases you mentioned is...gross, putrid. If your boys can't win without calls maybe your teams needs some adjustments. Great series man. I hope it happens next year. |

At the end of the day the Bruins won a Game 7 in which they were missing arguably their #2, #4, and #5 defensemen, and completed one of the best comebacks in league history to achieve it. If people want to rip the coach when things go badly, they have to give him credit when his team wins a game like that under those circumstances.
I'm sorry, Claude can be maddening at times, but today is not the day to rip on him. His strategy may be overly conservative, he may not always use the offensive talent he has at his disposal in the optimal way, and he may not be able to ice an even competent powerplay, but overall his system works.....that fact is undeniable.
And one more thing.....everyone who is calling for Claude to be fired needs to think long and hard about who the Bruins would realistically replace him with. Claude is a top 5 coach in the league in my opinion. Meaning if you replace him you're likely not getting anyone better. |

I really never said anything about firing him. My opinion is that if you are to beat the Rangers he has to be quicker at adjusting. |

There isn't at the moment. However the job has not been made available so who knows? Plus it is Chairelli's job the hire not mine or anyone who feels the same way. Are we seriously trying to deny a fans right to female dog and moan about and also celebrate the team here? You make a rock solid point, but, that doesn't mean I have to like him or his style...and I don't. |

What a strange thing to complain about. I actually don’t even know what hit he’s talking about. I mean, if I were going to complain, I’d moan about JVR getting a vicious elbow to the face, no call, and Lupul getting called for a rather weak tripping call almost right after that. But, that crap happens to every team here and there. It’s nothing against the Leafs, sometimes ref just miss things. It’s part of the game.
But holy crap, Marchand is such a rat. I don’t know how he gets away with the things he does. Slewfoots Reimer, crosschecks to Lupuls kidneys after the play in front of the net, tossing the waterbottle on to the ice to stop play. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. He’s good at what he does, even if that’s being a rat. I’m actually kind of impressed.

Actually, he changed last night, dropping seguin to the third line I thought was a great move, but, lets face it, Clode was two minutes away from looking for a job, I think its within the realm of common sense to rip the coach when we were up 3-1 and won by the skin of our teeth in game 7.
Why can't he get this team up for games? Why does our PP have to be so inept? Legit questions that aren't going to wait for round 2. |
