Same here! Totally eulogized them and took it out on the beers in my fridge. Then...holy poop....Patrice F'n Bergeron

Yup all my buddies are Leafs fans and they were calling left, right & centre I was flipping out. Wifwe came home from work and came down to my bruins cave and i told her that she is better off going to bed, it's no time to talk to me....

then 10 mins later she comes running downstairs because im screaming like a little female dog jumping alone in my basement and waking my kids up.

She was pissed... i did not care LOL

There isn't at the moment. However the job has not been made available so who knows? Plus it is Chairelli's job the hire not mine or anyone who feels the same way. Are we seriously trying to deny a fans right to female dog and moan about and also celebrate the team here? You make a rock solid point, but, that doesn't mean I have to like him or his style...and I don't.
- glove_was_stuck

Absolutely true. I don't like his style either. But I do feel compelled to defend him because, whether I like it or not, he has been, arguably, the most successful coach this team has ever had.

exactly..that's why the leafs and bruins can beat the sh*t out of eachother and all you hear the players talking about is respect...no bitc*ing like in the habs or canucks series..seems it's awlays the same teams moaning...wierd

Did you hear that Vancouver had more penalties called on them than San Jose? Definitely a conspiracy.

Actually, he changed last night, dropping seguin to the third line I thought was a great move, but, lets face it, Clode was two minutes away from looking for a job, I think its within the realm of common sense to rip the coach when we were up 3-1 and won by the skin of our teeth in game 7.
Why can't he get this team up for games? Why does our PP have to be so inept? Legit questions that aren't going to wait for round 2.

- 77emac77

I think the Killer instinct and lack of fire is the most damning point. Plus his system seems to shelter certain guys, reasons why jagr doesn't quite work here with no offensive freedom and Seguin is suffering as well.

I dont mind Claude but I think he has a shorter shelf life right now with this series and the end of the season.

What a strange thing to complain about. I actually don’t even know what hit he’s talking about. I mean, if I were going to complain, I’d moan about JVR getting a vicious elbow to the face, no call, and Lupul getting called for a rather weak tripping call almost right after that. But, that crap happens to every team here and there. It’s nothing against the Leafs, sometimes ref just miss things. It’s part of the game.

But holy crap, Marchand is such a rat. I don’t know how he gets away with the things he does. Slewfoots Reimer, crosschecks to Lupuls kidneys after the play in front of the net, tossing the waterbottle on to the ice to stop play. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. He’s good at what he does, even if that’s being a rat. I’m actually kind of impressed.

brad enciting the crowd to throw more yellow towels after the tying goal and then throwing the water bottle to delay the opening ot faceoff had me cringing. wonder if he'll get a phone call.

as far as his physical antics, he's on par with colton orr trying to goad z.

I agree on that point. They have built something special with this team and he has been steering the ship. I would NEVER want to go back to the dark days. If he could figure out killer instinct part...His approach has worked, it's proven. So maddening to watch though. Good gawd!

I think the whole "killer instinct" issue is more on the players than on the coach. In my view, if you consider the team's inability to close games/series out its biggest flaw, Claude shuffling the lines or telling his defensemen to pinch is not going to correct that.

In my opinion, the "killer instinct" to close teams out has to come from the players themselves. Chara is a tremendous captain, no doubt, and Bergeron is a great Alternate, but both guys are more "lead by example" types than true blood and guts leaders who charge out in front of the troops (think emotional leaders like Mark Messier or Rod Brindamour). Frankly, the emotional leader of this team right now is probably Andrew Ference, which is a bit of problem given the year he's had and that he is likely gone this offseason. Last night, though, there is no doubt the emotional leader was Lucic. He led the charge and the rest of the team followed him. That's why I believe this playoffs is very important for Lucic's development. If this series was a turning point for him in terms of finding nightly consistency (and I believe it could well be) it will bode well for the Bruins going forward. Lucic can be the leader who instills the killer instinct in this team in a vocal, emotional, and physical way that the current team leadership cannot. I hope Lucic continues to turn the corner and turns into that player....if so I think he'll be wearing Ference's "A" next season.

Chara was taking runs at a few guys at the beginning of the game. He came out looking rather angry. Colton Orr wasn't out there to goad him into a fight. He was out there to back Chara off. What would you expect a coach to do? Let Chara take runs at guys all night? he did what needed to be done.

At that moment Chiarelli was thinking : "YES!!! Now I don't have to fire the entire coaching staff and make a whole bunch of trades in the offseason!!!!"

You're bringing it today man! The Killer instinct with Claude is he needs to tell these guys to go step on teams throats and allow them to score. So the 3rd line is not so great. Maybe shorten the bench, give your scorers more ice time and opportunity to get something done. No offense to the Campbell line but if you need a goal I don't want to see them out there. Same for Peverly for that matter. To me it would more ice time for Krejci and Lucic or whomever should be rewarded for example based on how they played.

Interesting point on Lucic. He has been awesome this series and did show that kind of leadership last night and in game 6. Very interesting to see of he really has turned a corner. I hope he has, they need him to. I get on him alot but he is still young and still has yet to hit his ceiling. I really want to be proven wrong about him. I agree on Ference I just don't see him coming back. Redden has been pretty good and Bartkowski really stepped up last night. You may have options in those 2 to fill the spot.

Oh yeah...for the moment though. This Rangers series is not going to be a cakewalk. It's going to be nasty. You may even see Torts and Claude have a go.

Funny, pretty sure I saw Marchand catch an obvious spear to the balls in Game 1 that no one complained about.

Marchand's a rat no question, let's not pretend he does things that players on every other team don't do.

Yeah, those things happen from time to time. And from time to time, I mean every time Marchand is on the ice.

Like I say, I'm not complaining. It's what he does, and he does a damn good job of it.

It may sound like it, but I’m not. It’s what he’s there to do, and the fact that he can do it, and for whatever reason, get away with it, makes him an asset to the Bruins. Agitating is a skill. He does it well. And further, it’s not like he’s Matt Cooke out there, ending careers. People may hate him, and I get why, but he performs a function, and performs that function well. I don’t hate him at all.

I'd take marchand any day on my team. And i would NOT take matt cooke or some other gutless losers out there.
