The guy had nothing to work with. The GM made one idiotic trade after another.. my god.. How good would that team be with Ott, Neal and Ryder still there. Talk about a friggin bad GM!!

Joe Nieuwendyk, was the GM you are referring to and was let go at season's end.

The new GM is Jim Nill, and this is just him clearing the decks to bring in his own guy.

Uphill battle for sure, for the Wings. I won't dispute that. But it's the playoffs. I've said in previous threads, the playoffs are quirky. We all know it's a game of inches (centimeters if you're in Canada) and sometimes, no matter how much you battle, the bounces just don't go your way. Sometimes, no matter how good your team is, it's the puck-luck that can save, or doom, a team.

I don't think the Wings are as old and slow as your blogger would have you believe. The Wings are playing much better than they were the last time they played the Hawks. It's not the same team. I'm not saying the Wings will win the series. I just don't think they're going to get steamrolled, like it seems most on this blog do.

I would suggest you go back and read the previous thread. Many of us wrote this series could go 6 or 7 games. That's not getting steamrolled. Vancouver getting ousted by San Jose in 4 is getting steamrolled.

Detroit can absolutely win this series. But, Chicago had the best record in the league and have fared better in this particular match up, so until proven otherwise....the majority of people are going to pick them to win this series...especially here.

I don't see Smith playing over Stalberg, even if Stalberg needs to play better.

I will still be surprised if Stalberg doesn't start....

But I have been surprised before but if it happens it would be completely out Q.'s character, makes me wonder if there is more to it.

I think what it shows beyond anything else is this...

Q. knows the biggest enemy of the Blackhawks is themselves.

I am guessing Q is off his meds. He finally gave into his internal compulsion to isolate a guy and eff with his head.

In the tradition of Frolik, Brouwer, Buff, Versteeg, Campbell, etc..and others going back over the years.

Many times players don't speak to the head coach about stuff like this...

He will know when Q. tells him...

Worst post of the day....are you serious??? So let me make sure I understand this.....The Hawks, trying to win a Stanley Cup and playing their biggest rival in the second round of the playoffs have worked out a trade with Stalberg after the season is over so they decide to sit him so they don't risk an injury thus making the trade null and void..........is this correct?

Words cannot describe the fear I have for the people you interact with on a daily basis......
