please point out ONE POST where a sens fan claimed to have a better team then pitt........................honestly, just one
- sensarmy_11

I think the point is this ... Ottawa took it to a Montreal team that would have either been closer to being out of the play-offs in a regular full season as opposed to the second seed in the East and they all the sudden look like world beaters. While Ottawa looked very good, Montreal wasn't good in any phase. They are a non play-off team in an 82-game slate. Pittsburgh gets taken to six by a young, gritty and speedy Islander team that would have made the play-offs and they have issues. While I admit, Pittsburgh didn't play well, they played a better team in the first round.

Alot of people predicting Ottawa in this series are forgetting that. Can Ottawa win? Sure, it can. Has Pittsburgh learned its lesson? I'm pretty sure it has too. We will see in the coming 2 weeks.

Guess the islanders have us worried abOut team speed. The only time in the regular season I thought wow they are fast was against Toronto. Aside from that I always thought we were a Pretty fast team. I think we looked slow last series because our transition game was terrible and we turned the puck over. Overall I think we can skate with anyone.

The Flyers are my second favorite team and as I recall that strategy did work pretty well for the Flyers last year. As a Sens fan I hope they do move this battle into the more manly aspects of game where the Pens are uncomfortable playing.

I see you have moved on from your Islanders love affair. They will be so brokenhearted.

i said the pens should be the favorite BUT if they take the sens as lightly as some of the fans seem to be, then they could be in trouble.

would you prefer i say something like "pens should be favoured, and they're gonna win easily because ottawa sucks at every position, and should just stay home"

- sensarmy_11

Off course not that would sound strange.

We all think the Sens are a good team and will give us some fits during the series. Let the teams play to see how they'll matchup in the playoffs. During the season we were just better than the Senators head-to-head.

my posts about the sens strenghts have mostly been in reply to those suggesting they arent' as fast as the isles, and the comparisons have been how the sens play compared to how the isles play.

nowhere have i even suggested that ottawa is a better team, except in goal, where i think most people will agree that ottawa has the advantage.

- sensarmy_11

Don't forget about the Karlsson at 75% is better than Letang...Cowan = Orpik, Martin is worst than Gryba or whatever...

We'lll see. I'm sure Ottawa will be hitting a lot in this series which is fine. We'll do the same. I'm glad we have Crosby & Malkin on our side.

come on man, i think you're kind of overlooking montreal a bit, and pumping up the isles a little too much.

montreal finished 10 pts clear of the islanders, scored more, gave up less, better PP, better PK..........

montreal ran into a bad matchup for their team style, and weren't able to overcome it. you're acting like ottawa played the panthers in teh first rd, and the pens played the hawks.

montreal is better than the islanders, but couldn't match the physical play of ottawa, and couldn't beat anderson, THAT is why they aren't playing anymore.

who said that? i've never seen anyone say that.

as for cowen = orpik, i agree with that 100%, if anything i'd say cowen is probably better.

i've never heard anyone say gryba is better than martin, almost every sens fan has been complaining about gryba's play all season

you seem to be fabricating some stuff to help prove your point, either that or you have a terrible memory.

I swear to god somebody from your board came here to say stupid stuff like that. The Karlsson at 75% is better than Letang comment was for real, maybe it was Methot is better than Martin and Gryba better than Murray...wow...that was hard to read

Much the same way you take issue with Pens fans using the regular season as a gauge for your team when "the last 7-8 games have been different"; you can not point to the MTL regular season and say you beat that same team in the playoffs. Montreal down the stretch run and against you guys in round 1 was not the same team that built a points lead in the regular season. Montreal faded down the stretch while the Isles came in pretty hot.

How about you two knuckleheads stop with the he said, she said debate?

Who (frank)ing cares? Does an Ottawa fan comparing Cowen to Orpik affect you deeply in some way?

well if he said that, he's an idiot. he was trolling or something.

i think a healthy karlsson is better than letang, but karlsson at 75% is not.

the habs might not have been as good, but it's a little extreme to say that a #2 seed wouldn't even have been a playoff team in a full season.

Never said that. I am simply stating that they were a pretty weak 2 seed and were basically in a competition with Boston to see who could NOT win the NE.

With the Caps elimination, I've got my annual dilemma of rooting against the Pens vs wanting to see entertaining hockey. I hate them, but the Pens are always entertaining. If I can step away from my distaste for the Pens, it would be really exciting to have a Pens/Blackhawks final, probably the best possible showcase for the sport.

EDIT: Still rooting for the Sens, though

I agree. Montreal looked really bad in the last few games of the regular season. They were just a shade of their former selves.

i know you didn't say that, i was saying that my post that you quoted, was in reply to oneotta (or whatever his name is) who said the montreal wouldn't have even made the playoffs in an 82 game season.
