Yeah I think we are on the same page, just don't know who we can pick up? - MapleLeafsFTW
Ya I don't have the answer to that one. I wouldn't mind Jumbo Joe for a nice stop gap.
I'm not sure really. Just feel that bozak is expendable IF we do find a replacement and I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
One of him or Grabo has to go tho.
Colbourne I thought seemed to get better every game |

Hahaha yeah, I can also see why the rule was abolished since the top players back in the day were usually french. - MapleLeafsFTW
Well, most were Canadian, that's for sure. |

Trust me, the leafs have to stop making excuses for themselves, stop thinking that oh hey he had a decent year he will be our savior centerman, when they are no more than an average centerman, not elite talent down the middle or proven centerman down the middle that can handle the duties. Bozak is more of a 2nd line/3rd line centerman role type of player. Not 1st. And we still need to fill that number one centerman role.
Realistically we need ONE more, ONE more player either an elite winger or centerman to fill our forward needs. If a guy like clarkson or horton want to come here as well sure why not but realistically we only need one more. Or we keep the centers we have now and sign/trade for an elite winger. But i am sure its better to have more depth up the middle
JVR ________ Kessel
Lupul Bozak Kadri (can easily shift to wing)
Frattin Colborne Kulemin
Koma Mcclement Orr/Mclaren - Mapleleafs_91
This is a line up I would love to see... although that's a huuuge question mark on line 1

Agree 100 percent that its time to see colborne play 3rd line duties, we can easily keep bozak and get another top elite centerman and have bozak center kadri and lupul, kadri can shift to the wing so many have shifted to wing(ex: seguin, galchenyuk) |

You took the words right out of my mouth
I was nervous at 3-1 given this team's propensity for blowing two goal leads.
At 4-1, I started thinking, "Oh my God, this is happening, this is happening, this is really happening."
At 4-2, I thought Boston just caught a bit of a break against a team that had taken its foot off the pedal, but got nervous again with they way they were pressing.
At 4-3, I think deep down I knew we were going to lose.
4-4 I basically treated as if Boston had gotten the game winner.
5-4 was just a formality, although I stood up when Lupul tried that wrap around.
I hardly slept that night, and when I did, I dreamt of the game. Watching the Bruins play this second round is going to be tough. I hope they get stomped. - Leeman4Gilmour

Yeah they had dibs before there was a draft. - Yeti1181
no they did not
before the days of the draft it was first come first serve.
what happened is teams like montreal and toronto would finance minor league teams and sign guys.. but there was never such a thing as territorial rights.. ever. |

Not technically but before the draft they generally has access to younger players and could sign them as young as 14 to their rights. Generally they stayed in their geographical region and be that in was in their backyard they had first shot. - Yeti1181
100% incorrect: the bolded
nothing stopped the bruins from signing orr for example.. and the leafs, wings, and habs all tried.
if the leafs had territorial rights.. then boston wouldnt of been able to sign orr.
its one of the biggest myths of hockey lore |

I keep dreaming to see it, this would haunt boston big time, "the return of Joe Thorton" playing with kessel in the East |

Kadri isn't good on the wing, which is why people think it took him so long to break into the league because they moved him to the wing at first. Truth be told the ideal prototypical number 1 center isn't a common theme throughout the NHL. I'd say we have 3 centers who are all good centers, to say any is number one is pretty arbitrary. I'd say Kadri has the potential to be the most offensively gifted, Bozak is good two ways and Grabo is somewhere in between. |

They went by the same rules every other team did - that's the point. The Leafs had the same rights in their zone, Bruins the same in their zone, etc. There was no preferential treatment for the Habs. - hscesq
Oh I know that I wasn't arguing that fact I was saying it for every team not just the habs. I know it stretched only 50 but I remember for toronto Montreal they typically stayed inside their own province, that was there choice. |

Might as well trade bozak in a deal for a number one centerman like thorton and sign/trade for another winger.
Look at boston, boston has alot of guys that play center that are now on the wing, they have depth even if they get kicked out of face off circle |
