Hmm. Leafman hates when people post this.

(So does beatle John and seeing he created a new ID to say it, I would think LEAFMAN may take a second look)

Today there was discussion on local radio. If given the choice, would you rather be swept like the Canucks were, two in OT. Or what happened to the Leafs. (I am not even sure how to categorise that so I will just say "what happened".)

I know what the West Coast said.... how would Toronto fans respond?

- Beatle_john

Now that my hangover has passed, I'm really proud of the Leafs, and would much rather "what happened" than being swept. You learn nothing from a sweep, yet the kids on our team learned you can't take your foot off the gas for even 10 minutes, regardless of the lead you have. They beat expectations this year (people will remember this eventually), and scared the PISS out of the former champs , just don't do it again.

if the leafs were swept I think the discussion would be about how to blow up the team, Kessel is a bust in the playoffs, Reimer sucks not at #1.

Instead i have a lot of hope for the team.

That said pushing the Bruins to 7 after being down 3-1 showed a lot about this team, the ending was horrible, but I would take going 7 games against a former unbeatable opponent.

I would expect the Canucks fans to say swept in 4 like Vancouver to feel somewhat better about thier situation. Even though its not imo

If everything I want to happen this summer happens:

Kessel-Statsny-JVR
Lupul-Kadri-Horton
Kulemin-Bozak-Frattin
Kamorov-McClement-Orr/McClaren

Johnson-Phaneuf
Fraser-Franson
Gardiner-O'Byrne

Reimer
Scrivens

Me my hand+a poster of Kate Upton

- MapleLeafsFTW

that would be awesome if the leafs could get this guy.
I'd move Phaneuf.

It's all good. He is an old buddy. So, what did happen to you? Did you have a tirade and get ban-hammered?

We don't have to, he's a free agent I'm pretty sure.

He was a disappearing act all year but he was pretty good in the playoffs, one of their only players contributing offensively (besides like 15 minutes in game 7 )

Everything I put up there has a reasonable chance of happening except for maybe the Erik Johnson part. I'd say that or the Statsny part are the most likely that I put. Still not likely but moves I would make if I could.

You are correct. I think everyone, to a 'T' said they would rather have the sweep not because of the embarrassment, but it forces change.

Yeah, with the Canucks, there's no "upside" there. That's a window that's closing very quickly if not closed already; the cupboards are bare too. Sad state of affairs in Vancouver.

If we were swept in 4, they'd all just say, "oh well, it was expected, there's always next year...". This is a tough, bitter pill to swallow; nobody's forgetting this, ever. They'll be telling each other, "REMEMBER GAME 7! DON'T SIT BACK BOYS!" for years to come.

Plus, the myth of the unbeatable Bruins has been shattered; I guarantee we'll never look the same against the Bruins like we have since basically the Kessel trade.

Kessel was very good in the series, Seguin and Hamilton looked like poope.
