So, shop Komi, before you buy him out, he may get picked up by the Isles.
- bixll

They couldn't unload him before, so I doubt they can now.

Age aside, Joe Thornton would be a good target for the Leafs.

Pretty much everything this team needs at center, size, faceoff skill, elite playmaking. Him and Kessel....

I know you love Grabo but he is a ragdoll out there, I think they give him one more year, then a decision will be made.
- LeafMan

he lost a bunch of weight from the issues he was having, which hurt him.

love grabo or hate grabo, he had a bad half season, i dont think thats worth writting him off.

burke is the idiot who gave him 1-1.5 too much. i wouldnt count him out just yet, hes still our 2nd most productive player in the last 3 years.

Love this idea. Not so optimistic it could actually happen though. hopefully sharks get swept

imagine you could let bozak walk and grabo gets shipped out for next to nothing (sorry dion).

and get joe... essentially you'd be paying less and then down the middle you'd have Jumbo Joe, Kadri, Mcclement, Jumbo Joe the second (colborne)

Elite players from Ontario do not sign with the Leafs, never have, never will. They have no guts to sign here but keep wishing, just maybe...

Given his age though... Hard to think of a trade worth it from a Leafs POV at this point in time.

JVR, Colborne, Kulemin for Duchene.

Git'r done.

truth is Lou, if randy is going to use him as a third line center and play him as he did during teh regular season, we 100% should trade him, buy out, whatever.

if he plans to actually play the guy in a role that is for his style, then yeah, keep him, if not, do what needs to be done to improve the team.

i still think bozak will command 4.5 - and i think hes worse than grabo overall.

The only thing I question here is Grabo's style doesn't seem to gel with kessel. (with no stats to back it up, just from what i see while they play on seperate lines)

Not saying Bozak is the answer to our problems but Grabo's flying over the line and turning the puck over doesn't seem to suit Kessel so well.

edit: if the plan is to put kadri on the first line and use grabo on the 2nd then maybe that's a different story. Also if you could guarantee he returns to pre-large contract form then its obviously different as well

GM 101 man.

hahah seriously though, I don't think there's a ton of moves to be made.

While I have a few questions about Reimer, without a doubt he's earned his spot as the number 1 at least for the foreseeable future. Maybe he needs one of those two seamed gloves Weekes was talking about last night.

The core is where we want it to be with good young talent. Perhaps a nice veteran depth forward would go a long way.

I would love a legitimate number 1 power center. But I don't think the answer is to overspend or sell the future for it. If we had to move forward for the time being with some combination of Kadri, Bozie/Grabo, Colbourne, Mcclement. I could live with it, but we could use another top 6 forward.

I think the biggest immediate need is a solid top pairing shut down D to play with Dion and take some pressure off of him. And to switch from Phaneuf Qb'ing the powerplay to Gardiner or just anyone who can skate and shows some urgency on the PP.

So i see 4 pressing needs:

Number one Centre, Top 4 D-man, Big/skilled/tough 3rd line forward, bottom 6 faceoffman/penelty killer. These positions will replace Liles, MacArthur, Mclaren and Bozak.

Fill in the blanks ladies and gents and see what we can come up with here.

Yup... like Tomas Kaberle was the catalyst and driving force for that.

I'm gonna be honest here... I don't think this team needs insane changes. They didn't lose because of a lack of skill, they lost because lack of experience and killer instinct. Things they may have acquired from this series. They saw what it takes to win.
