Scuderi will be 35 by next season, (I know Streit is older too), but I think if you go with Scuderi, you're setting yourself up for a future buyout.
- mykokes

Streit isn't really what we need though (as much as I like him too) unless everybody wants Gardiner to take a seat again.

Scuderi might be a buyout later on sure, but man he's much better defensively and has two cup rings as a major contributor to his name, would really help in that need for a vet that knows how to win.

Only 20? That is not even a consideration for Howard.

Damn refs.
- hscesq

refs were poop, i think any fan from any team could agree with that.

i have a bunch of hab/sens fans who said that was the worst game 7 reffing they had ever seen, and was totally in boston's favour.

now, perhaps they were saying to make me feel better, but these are the guys who grind my gears harder than anyone else about the leafs...so i dont see it being so suspect afterall...

leafs lost the game, they blew it...but there is no doubt the reffing didnt pay any favours to the leafs.

and yes...this is my first venting, i couldnt even talk about teh game yesterday.

LOL
I love how you suggest Reimer had any say in stopping the play...he cant control rebounds.....you control them...so they dont end up as goals....which was the case several times.
He played well no doubt.
But I dont believe he is the goalie that will carry the leafs to the next level.
He's a good tender.....but not the tender to get them to where they want to be.

- Fakepartofme

So you are saying you can control an 80 mph or greater shot in goal tending gear?

Too bad about the loss.

Honestly felt the Leafs deserved that game

Glad Leafs fans got something to cheer about this season, though

I really don't get what more you need the Leafs goaltender to accomplish.

His numbers this year were as good as any of Joseph's or Belfour's and nobody questions whether they were the problem.

In fact, nobody is really questioning Reimer but you.

UFA D Help: Regehr, Hainsey, Streit, Leopold, Scuderi, White, CLITSOME (want the jersey). Any Takers??
- Jimmy_wiener

I know everyone is going to jump on me, but I would add Paul Ranger to that list. I have to believe that Leaf brass did not give him an AHL contract without their being some discussion to him eventually making a move back to the NHL. If he decides to make the jump and wants to stay in Toronto, book him and Gardiner being the #2 pairing.

Not sure I would want any of those guys outside of Streit. And he won't come cheap
- AngryWhiteMale

if its Streit you want, might as well hang onto Liles. Streit ain't movin' Chara or Lucic out of the way in front of the net...

I was nervous at 3-1 given this team's propensity for blowing two goal leads.

At 4-1, I started thinking, "Oh my God, this is happening, this is happening, this is really happening."

At 4-2, I thought Boston just caught a bit of a break against a team that had taken its foot off the pedal, but got nervous again with they way they were pressing.

At 4-3, I think deep down I knew we were going to lose.

4-4 I basically treated as if Boston had gotten the game winner.

5-4 was just a formality, although I stood up when Lupul tried that wrap around.

I hardly slept that night, and when I did, I dreamt of the game. Watching the Bruins play this second round is going to be tough. I hope they get stomped.

- Leeman4Gilmour

I wasn't able to get out of bed the next day for my appointment, I just laid there trying to digest it all.

By 4-1 I had a really bad feeling in my stomach. I'm not prophetic, I just wasn't willing to believe we'd won until the final buzzer. Looking at the clock I saw the time and said this'd be a tough last 15 minutes. My two buddies are Sens fans(we're in Kanata) and they were all like 'this is over'

4-2 I thought, 10 minutes left, if Boston gets one more before the final minute then it's meant to be.

The intermission going into OT, having my smoke, I was resigned to the same fate you were. I spent it trying to mentally prepare myself for the reality to come, expecting the Leafs to lose.

I figured if we didn't get that Loops wrap around, then we were back on our heels. Loops not getting the puck up on that breakaway was crappy, as was Franttin's flub. Gotta get those backhands up

let's hope so... Ranger can play - if focused and he would likely be motivated.

As nervous as I was at 4-2, once the game got down to approximately 3-4 minutes, I thought there was no way we'd drop it.

What a roller coaster. Glad these boys learned what it takes to win a championship, though. The best lessons come from the worst failures.

Move him to the 3rd line as a checker and let him chip in goals once in awhile. Maybe taking some pressure off him will relax him. Him Grabo and Mcclement did an excellent job on the Krejci line the last couple games for the most part at least.
