yep. 4 goals is a shelling. (frank)ing asshats. and i'd wager that if he had a shutout there would be nary a mention of his performance. - hammarby31

Nope, the defense in front of him would've gotten all the credit. Gotta love the intellectual dishonesty.

Looks like Breeze will be here at least one more season, though lately, it looks like he's trying hard to talk himself out of the city. It's too risky at this time to hand Mason the number 1.
The UFA goaltending class isn't that impressive so they'll have to pick a capable one up in a trade which would only further deplete their depth (Emery and Mason doesn't really excite me too much) unless they can sign one cheaply off a buyout. - 77rams
Why would we deplete our depth trading for a capable goalie when we already have a capable goalie? |

Because, buying out a guy that pretty clearly doesn't want to be here any longer, gives them more cap flexibility |

It certainly does. Although I don't see anything that points to him not wanting to be here anymore.

I think certain members of the media are translating his anger at them personally (or perhaps collectively) as a desire to leave Philly. |

Having seen and read the interviews he's given since the season ended, I don't see a guy that really wants to stay. For a guy that wants to stay, he's sure taking quite a few potshots. Not just at the media, but saying the city is old, dirty and full of "ghettos" and "people who don't want to work" is hardly a ringing endorsement.
IMO, he sounds like a guy getting his shots in before he's gone. |

I've seen the raw video and literal translations of what he said, not anyone's interpretation of it. He sounds like a guy taking parting shots. |

He's not taking potshots at the Organization or the team. And he's right about the City. That's got nothing to do with the Hockey team. Bryzgalov speaks his mind and doesn't hold back. If he didn't want to play here, I believe we'd know it. And wouldn't have to guess. In my opinion nothing in any of those statements says he doesn't want to play here.

Well, I disagree. He's not taking shots at the team or organization, but he's certainly creating a potential problem for the team to deal with in the fall. |

I don't see how any of those comments present a problem to the team. If he was complaining about the team, Coaches, players, etc. That would say that he doesn't want to play here. He was asked about the City specifically, which has nothing to do with the Flyers. As always, he answered honestly. |

Hopefully by the fall everyone in the Philly media will be too busy burning Chip Kelly in effigy because of the Eagles' 0-3 start to pay any attention to Young Breezy. |

It does have something to do with the Flyers in the sense that he's attacking the town in which they are located & the people in which spend money on the team in a variety of ways. |

Yep. The Flyers beat guys will be too busy on Chip Kelly to write anything about the goalie who spent all summer calling them unprofessional and complaining about the city. No possible way they remember that. |

I can see it creating a headache for various members of the organ-eye-zation, but in the end, I dont think its anything that a 10 game winning streak wouldnt erase. |

I don't think any of those comments are going to stop the fans from spending money on the team. Much ado about nothing if you ask me.

i don't think he wants to be here either, for the same reasons. the man is shrewd and he's planting just enuf seeds w/o overtly asking out...unless he already knows something which we can only speculate. we'll have to wait ~ 6 weeks or so to find out. |

But... I think the whole thing is being blown out of proportion, and in the end won't amount to anything.

He isn't planting any seeds. He's just being who he is. This situation is becoming eerily familiar. And it's as much nonsense that is being overblown as that was.

I agree. The results are the only thing that is going to matter. And if the Flyers feel the level of play is worth the risk of the contract with the new rules. And what the bean counters at Comcast have to say.

No, if they win it will get swept aside, until the first loss.
I'm not even talking about that, I'm just saying that Bryzgalov doesn't sound like he's all that excited to remain a Flyer or stay in Philly. It's not even about the resulting issues that such comments could bring. He seems like he'd like to be elsewhere. It's all my opinion.
I could be wrong, but he does know how to simply say, "No comment" |
