Yup, Saskatoon has tried to get him to fight which was known going into the game. He's played well tonight. - ob18
And he's still a massive guy with good mobility. That sets him apart from the Valabiks. |

I'm not saying that there's anybody without flaws. I'm simply saying that one culture's hero is another culture's demon.
To say that people like Bryzgalov grew up with an opportunity to see how things really were make me wonder if you understand how restrictive the USSR was. It was hardly a free society, where information could be exchanged and one could learn an alternative history.
Your own reaction to my criticisms of the founding fathers and Columbus is shows how one can be conditioned. You pardon it by saying nobody is perfect, then talk about them growing up in a more "wild world".
The Russian revolution of 1917 came in the midst of the first world war, a time of massive slaughter and human misery. It was hardly a tame world. Even as the twentieth century progressed, the world stayed full of strife-the Japanese rape of Nanking, the Holocaust, Stalin and Hitler's blood purges, the Ku Klux Klan's emergence as a viable power in the United States in the 1920's and their reign of terror over African-Americans from then up into the 1960 and 70's.
Even bringing up self defense as an excuse for the sins of American Imperialism is weak. White settlers from Europe came and took the land that native tribes had lives on for generations, often time by force. As the settlers expanded their land grab, they consistently made and then broke treaties with the various tribes and herded them into reservations.
If a tribe or an alliance of tribes tried to resist, the white settlers generally annihilated them. If gold, or oil or anything that could be turned into profit was found on a reservation, the Indians were shoved off the land yet again.
But, Bryzgalov is wrong to hold a positive view of Stalin and your dismissal of the sins of the founders of this country is OK, because they had good intentions? - Jsaquella

Domi is at times just too unselfish and passes up the better play in shooting. |

I won't be sad if they don't pick him, I think no matter what there will be a real good player available. |

An alternative would be the Barnes and Noble Nook HD+. For $200 you can get a decent 9" (as opposed to 7") tablet. The Nook recently had an update which gives it access to the google play store. You can download the Kindle App and have access to all your Amazon ebooks not to mention all 700,000 android apps.
The downsides are that it doesn't have a camera and it will not receive android updates nearly as fast as a Google Nexus. Other than those 2 drawbacks you will be getting a very nice 9" android tablet for less than the price of a 7" Nexus. - Flyers_01

To the Stalin thing, we pride ourselves on the founding fathers and whatnot, when majority of the land acquired they wiped out Native Americans to obtain and were slave owners to boot. - GirouxForTheShow

What are your thoughts on nichuskin? I've got a feeling he slips down to 11. Do we take him or trade back for more picks? |

I don't think he falls outside the top 10 maybe still not even past Carolina |

From rotoworld : - Flyers_01
here's ed contradicting that statement from the miller article:
" It had to be done," Snider told the Daily News, just after arriving here for tonight's NHL Awards show at The Palms Casino and Resort. "I was part of making it happen. It was hard to sit there and watch the Stanley Cup final, knowing what [Tim] Thomas was doing for Boston."
here's the rest of it
http://articles.philly.co...-ed-snider-ilya-bryzgalov
short version: ed banged his fist on the table and wanted bryz. the tim thomas part of the statement is laughable in retrospect. |

I was just looking at the draft order and thought that carolina might be the team to take him. Rutherford can afford to wait for him to come over, although they might go d. |

Can you compare zadarov and hedman's draft potential? What does hedman's seemingly have on him that made him a #2 pick? |

Wasn't that perceived to be a weaker draft at the time? Tavares was going first then a big drop in talent. |

If the sabres are for any reason looking to move on from Tyler Myers. I would hope flyers would be all ears. Would love for Pronger to get ahold of him |
