Any tech savvys out there?
can't really afford an iPad mini so for a ~7" tab, i'm deciding between a kindle fire HD, samsung galaxy and the google nexus. looking for better functionality than my old kindle fire, which sucks to post here with. that thing is a glorified reader and basically useless.
would appreciate any feedback... |

he does. your .gif was from a 3 goal comeback against the Rags earlier in the season. you have to listen (no you don't) to the audio of Edwards while slaying that beast. |

Wow. This is what Jack Edwards was doing during the Patrice Bergeron OT winner against the Leafs. He makes Steiggy and Errey look impartial.

Why is someone asking Bryzgalov about Stalin? Strictly because he's Russian? Is Ovechkin, Datsyuk, and all the other Russian players asked about Stalin? Or is Bryzgalov asked because he will likely give a "colorful" response? - PLindbergh31
I can't tell you that exactly. Obviously he's getting that interview because he cares about worldly thing like space, and history, and whatnot. As for Stalin, I say it's absolutely because he's a Russian, in Russia, giving an interview in Russian for a Russian media source. I can't tell you what the cultural context is in regards to history and Russia, I've never lived there. I'm not just going to assume that this interview was for yuks though, as I don't know how he's viewed in Russia. I assume they don't think of him as 'that guy who sounds like Borat'. |

Oh ok. He's extremely unprofessional with this type of behavior. Guy is a broadcaster not a drunk fan. |

I would recommend the Nexus 7. Does everything the iPad mini can, is much cheaper and since it is Nexus, you always get the latest version of the OS as soon as it is available from Google. |

I mean....if you're hometown announcer, of course you're going to be a homer to some extent. Even Kalas was a bit of a homer.
It's normal. That's why you're a HOMETOWN announcer.
But this guy takes it to a whole new level....ugh.... |

first off, i despise him.
having said that, i do think a) he plays it up because now he's known as that guy (including that there is a video camera on him and it will become fodder) and b) it is somewhat impressive that he can physically act like that while calling/describing the play. i wouldn't be that articulate, let alone enough to broadcast. |

Andy Brickley.
Mr. irrelevant. Last pick in the 1980 draft - by the Flyers. |

For the record, I don't care for him either but at least you understand why he is a homer.
Many people didn't like Gene Hart for exactly the same reasons. |

I'm almost certain the interview started with "What 2 people from history would you most want to talk to?" or something along those lines and he answered "Einstein and Stalin" and it went from there. |

Maybe so. Time to move on from him. As I stated in a previous post his level of play, coupled with the contract doesn't warrant keeping him around. Guys in the AHL can post .900 save %'s for a fraction of the cost. |

I'm just not ready to throw everything into Mason yet. I loved what I saw in 7 games, but we jumped the gun on our last goaltending opportunity, and look at how that's ended up. I think it'd be wise to show patience here. |

Many here would agree with that. The only problem is who do you replace him with? And what happens if the end-of-the-year Mason is really more like the 2012 version? |

Well color me surprised. Hasn't he been riding the pine the last 3/4 games? |

I loved what I saw from Mason. Obviously a 7 game sample size isn't anything to make a long term commitment to. I would bring in a veteran goaltender for a reasonable cap hit, have Mason start the season as the # 1, and he plays the lions share of the games as his play dictates. If he doesn't play well then you reevaluate. |

Def rooting for Boston, I can't stand the Rangers. - BulliesPhan87
A final four of Chicago/LA and NYR/Pitt would be so dreamy. I cant say I have a problem with any of those teams.
Chicago/LAK.....if you cant beat em trade your best players to another team and have them beat em. NYR/Pitt speaks for itself. |
