This fail started with the coaching staff.
Beautiful face-off fail by none other than Bolland leading to an odd-man break. And of course the very nicely executed pick/interference in front on Leddy preventing him from getting to the puck carrier, who had an easy, open lane to score.
Actually, when I see this crap, I end up rooting for a total fail, for the Hawks to go out in 5 games (lose the next 3) and for them to fire Q, Kitchen and Kompon. - savvyone-1

I'll allow them this bad one. I still don't think Wings will win the series. |

Guess I picked a good day to miss a game. Just caught the score.
Yo Hawks, good luck at the Joe. Is the President's Trophy swirling down the Bemis? |

We all get pissed after loses but I'm not sure rooting for them to fail just so Q can be fired makes a ton of sense...

It does to me, who ever let Q hire his two stooges assistant coaches should also be fired |

Don't disagree.
But I'm guessing it will be Saad out - another mind game by Big Chief Triangle - I mean Coach Q. - StLBravesFan

Terrible game, terrible effort, terrible result. I hope this result really stings the Hawks (especially Q after shooting himself in the foot) to such an extent that they come out with something serious to prove. Also, I'd like to see Stalberg on the bench again, thanks.
The one benefit of these "afternoon" games is I still have plenty of time to wash away the anger on the night with more alcohol Later fellas! |

I agree : let's give up a legitimate chance at the Cup - even with this poor excuse for an effort - so that we can turn over the coaching staff. |

All of you King's fans warned us about him, but he's Q's buddy as is Kitchen. They all should go and will go if they lose this series |

Poor game by everybody, it's bound to happen once in a while. My concern as it has been all year is that this Power Play is horrendous. NEW coach to ignite it ?? LA Kings had terrible PP last year too and we hire this guy from them ?? Duncan Keith pathetic on the point as usual and his defense on that tying goal brutal. As for Stalberg .....IMO......... StanBo behind the benching to try and get his market value down with impending UFA this summer ?? Lets see if we can win it without his size and speed ??? Lots of overpaid players on this team and Stalberg is not one of them. Keith and Bolland head that list. |

NO MORE TALK OF THE KINGS
hard to drain the swamp whe you are up to your neck in alligators !
Not worried about Toews ....he stills gives 110 % and his work will pay off
The Power play hasn't been any good since Campbell left
that being said we have more PP plays goals than the Wild or Wings have against us
Wings played a perfect game today and Q has some personnel decisions to make and soon
the season is on the line in Detroit |

On the plus side the Blackhawks don't usually play this bad in consecutive games. Just as Detroit made a statement today Chicago will make one on Monday. - DarthKane
agree 100%.
just annoying, I've missed most of the games so far because of commitments. this one i got to sit down with a beer and enjoy and it puts me in a bad mood. guh. i did have a sneaking suspicion about this outcome because of a afternoon game. why the hell there is an afternoon game during the playoffs is beyond me. |

I just don't understand how with 2 days off that this team really had no surge whatsoever at any point in this game. A home game no less. They basically slept through the enter game and never seemed to play with any type of urgency or intensity. After two periods, you're only down 2-1 and you haven't played well. You'd think the urgency of the matter would become apparent to them by that point, but they basically picked up right where they left off through 2 periods.
They had 20 shots on goal today. How many of those were serious scoring threats aside from the one goal. Two? Maybe three at most?
Troy Murray basically saying the Hawks got a little overconfident today? How the frig is that even possible with this team? That's what annoys me. This team talks the talk and says all the right things about how it's going to be a tougher game, they need to play better and keep the momentum at home and then they go out and get blown off the ice? I mean, losing the game is one thing. Stuff happens. But not competing, not showing up, not giving yourself any chance at all to win a game in front of your own fans is hard to fathom.

First, not a ledge jumper here. We will still win, just one bad game.
The whole Stalberg deal is idiotic. If he was not complaining and really was sat because of performance, then that is worse than anything. Talk about nitpicking, Stal did nothing to warrant a benching.
Q/coaches stepping in preemptively is/was so risky. All year you win rolling lines and making the other team matchup. That is the other teams problem. Now today, random line generator and no consistency.
Bet you guys a case of beer we see same regular season line up, with third line back in order, Bolland on Second line and Handzuis on 4th?
This is not brain surgery. |

Glad the Wings could make some adjustments to be more competitive. This should be a great series, but I still believe the Hawks are the better team.

Stals will be in as will Smith unless Q's pride gets in the way and he sticks with his benching mistake which has blown up in his face
Why anyone phucks with a winning combo by inserting Carcillo is beyond me

For me? Stalberg in. Ben Smith in. Carcillo out. Bolland out. Handzus down to 4th line. Saad has to come off that first line. Maybe move Stalberg up there. - RetiredGoalie

I have said this from the end of the season: hawks and home ice is not an advantage; they have a more consistent winning hockey style on the road. After that 1st goal they played as if the gme was over. A complete reversal of gme 1.
Not to mention some really bad penalties by shaw, carcillo and bolland while toews is getting hacked wacked and slashed up and down the ice. Only time I noticed bolland was on that penalty. Penalties have not hurt them so far as their PK as been a superb 25-25 but it hurts the flow of their game.
You had to expect a much better effort by the wings and a close gme but the hwks just disappeared from top to bottom.

Looked to me like just about all of Chicago's weaknesses as a team were exploited in that game. I only saw the third period, but caught some highlights of all the crap going on behind the play. Sharp and Toews giving the frustrated leg slashes which are just pathetic and unnecessary. Basically telling the Red Wings "Hey you're doing a great job frustrating us keep it up". They clogged up the neutral ice, and kept Chicago outside on the perimeter in their zone because they know nobody on Chicago likes to battle in front of the net. Sad display by the Hawks today |
