i didn't say your bottom six wasn't effective.....i was replying to a post about skill. ottawa's bottom six is a very very good mix of grit, defense, and skill. yost has broken down the numbers on several occasions (you can read his blogs if you want the proof) and despite all the injuries to the top six (who have struggled often), ottawa's bottom six has DOMINATED opponents all year long. - sensarmy_11
But your original post was that the Sens have more skill in the bottom 6. The Penguins bottom 6 does exactly what they are asked to do, and have been great for the Pens this entire playoffs. They have been as effective, if not more effective, then the Sens bottom 6. |

Don't do it, he will make up whatever he feels works in the situation. |

How dare you!!!
He is hurt, he is at 70% leave him alone.
He is hurt, not nice. Did I mention that he is hurt still.
He would be better if he wasn't so hurt. Hurt players have a history of playing out of position and flopping to the ice like a wounded deer.
He is still hurt don't forget that. - nbartley9

Sutter is very talented and we have Jokinen and Bennette scratched right now who both are very high skill players. TK is very solid in the playoffs. And not sure what Ottawa's bottom 6 stats look like but TK, Sutter and Morrow all have goals this series. |

With players like Crosby and Malkin why do the Penguins need skill in their bottom six? They are hard to play against, can be used in many situations and can chip in with timely goals. For example when Tyler Kennedy made it 1-0 in game three. |

Not sure about that. Don't you think it makes sense with Vitale out to put Jokinen in over Glass? Especially since we lost line up changes are more acceptable. |

Sutter and Cooke are put out there, usually against a team's top line, in a shut down role. Cooke has been on the ice for one 5 on 5 goal in 9 playoff games, Sutter has been on the ice for 3. Cooke also has been a thorn in the side of the Sens since game one, especially Karlsson. When the 4th line you've been rolling are averaging over 12 minutes a night, and have only been on the ice for 1 5 on 5 goal in the entire playoffs, your bottom 6 has been effective. |

greening has 3, pageau has 1
and zibanejad is the only player currently in the bottom six without a postive +/- rating in this series, and it's because he played the first 2 games in teh top six |

ottawa's bottom six have done the exact same thing (in terms of ev str goals against), and have also contributed double digit goal totals so far.....i mean throughout the entire playoffs (for goal totals) not just this series. |

Putting jokinen in over glass also gives you a faceoff guy when needed, someone to work the 2nd pp unit, and more freedom to mix up the lines if things aren't going right. If Iggy or Neal get injured do you really think glass is going to fill that spot. Jokinen brings depth for any of the 4 lines |

Those are some very balanced line IMO, even if Jussi isn't ready (thought he was just being sat but I saw yesterday it was injury) I'd put Vitale over glass...
Does anyone think maybe Bennett should get a look.. great shot blocker and extra insurance if someone in top 6 goes down, can add another right hand shot on second pp too...
but I think if they can fix their pp they will be fine.. that is the weakest link right now 0-6 in last game is not expectable.. |

Really anyone is a better option than Glass.
Bylsma kind of has an old way of thinking when it comes to the other team having a tough guy.
Glass is a direct reaction to the Sens having Neil. |

oh yeah. i think it makes a ton of sense. which is why it probably wont happen. if he is healthy, jokinen should have been in there already. |

Ottawa fans cry more than anything - especially if their last names begin with the letter M - Melnyk, Murray and MacLean. I guess Murray was popping off about Brooks Oprik's hard hits in this serious - thinking some were dirty.
I guess this numbnut you are responding too also has the letter "M" in his last name. - Oneonta Penguin
wow^^
and your saying ottawa fans cry??? im an 11 year old girl and i dont even cry as much as crosby! ahaha!! |

No doubt, I agree with the fact that skill players are more likely to draw penalties. That makes sense. I was only saying they shouldn't draw penalties simply because they are more talented. Right? - wolfhounds
I wasn't saying that either. |
