If Pittsburgh was going to play a defensive power play like it did at the end of regulation and NOT go for the certain game winner (showed no effort to do so), then you had the wrong guys out there. Sutter, Morrow, Cooke, Adams, Dupes are the guys to have on the ice, if that is/was your plan. Hopefully our head coach learned some common sense from last night's gaffe. I can't believe fans can see the light, but the head coach can't. - Oneonta Penguin
I'm so confused by the approach they took on that power play that I can't even type without getting angry!!!
Ok...I can type...sort of...
I'm lost on how a team that makes a living off of offensive zone pressure and power play goals can decide to DEFEND a 1 goal lead when they have a power play with less than two minutes to play.
I'm not saying you try to score a goal...but play as if you were trying to score a goal when it comes to puck possession. |

Because Karlsson wasn't throwing a hissy fit at the end of regulation last night??? - cap1681
OK. In retrospect you are right my friend. Even though he is one of my beloved Senators, Karlsson can whine and cry to the refs at times. Since I was able to acknowledge this fact, maybe you could acknowledge the fact that even though he has all-world class hockey talents, Crosby has all world class diving and embellishing talents as well. Go ahead, don't be afraid to speak the truth, it will make you feel better.

Hands down Crybaby wins the whiniest player. He taught all his fellow players how to drop to the ice when contact is made. Never saw a 240 lb player like Malkin fall to the ground so easily. Neal has learned well too. Even saw Iginla do it at one point. They all do it. - lileapers
Wow...do you need glasses?
Malkin is about 210 lbs... |

I would say every player does it to some extent. But the Pens must teach this as every player seems to flop to the ice. I dont know that Callahan would just flop to the ice. Its comical to watch a Pen get hit up at the chest but their feet fly out flat from under them. - lileapers
Callahan seems to do his best acting in the scrums. You are correct, the Pens have the worst divers in the league based on their propensity to flop.

The 5 guys on the ice should have been:
Dupuis - Forechecks
Kunitz - Forechecks
Crosby - Smarter than Malkin
Orpik - Steady
Martin - Steady
Malkin and Letang should have been nowhere near the ice for that.
As Cooke being suspended for the High Stick, perhaps Karlsson should be suspended for repetitive diving. In all three games he has made like Greg Louganis. |

How long have Orpik and Martin been going steady? Sometimes it is tough to work so closely with a person you are committed to. |

Shots: Pittsburgh 50, Ottawa 48.
A fairly slim margin.
Definitely had the balance of play in overtime, and generated some additional shots on the PP, though. - Mr_Clean
My bad, I thought the margin was larger. We sure had some good looks but Anderson was a wall! |

Giroux, Skinner and Couture are the three biggest embellishers in the game today. You don't watch much hockey. Watch more.

He embellishes, just like every great player does. It's the haters out there that like to think he does it more then everybody else. |

Take a poll is he whiniest team in the NHL and the whiniest player, you know who they are, it's a fact not an observation - tuna99
It's not measureable, it's not science and therefore not a fact. It's called an opinion. Yours is based on your somewhat biased view, got it. |

Yup...didn't know that.
Giroux just got finished with the World's...almost as good as the playoffs. Gonna have to check back next week for his golf scores. - wolfhounds
The Worlds might be the biggest joke of them all. It's like trying to have the World Championship of Golf the same four day period as the Masters.

Giroux? One of the biggest embellishers? No, sorry. I understand you hate all things Flyers, but that statement's got no legs to stand on. |

Giroux embellishes - its simple.

That's minor. Detroit used to have like 13 guys who would talk to the officials after every call. It was never Yzerman or Lidstrom though. It was guys like Draper and Kirk Maltby. |

What do you mean, too many games in a condensed period?
I'm not sure why NHLers play in the tournament, especially right after the season ends. I can understand AHL players participating for the experience, keep improving, to stay in shape, etc. |

That's the exact group I voted for.
A couple other observations....
I'm starting to believe that Duper deserves some PP time. Night in and night out, he is one of the best players on the ice.
I'm pretty sure I don't want Morrow or Iggy back next year. |

Meh. Nearly every player embellishes from time to time, I wouldn't debate that. I would debate Giroux is one of the "biggest embellishers". |

Another observation...
How can a sane man choose to play Tanner Glass over Jussi Jokinen? One guy can play in every situation and win's face offs. The other guy is a fringe NHL'r who didn't get his first point 'til the season was almost over. |

I've heard some people say that Jokinen is injured. Playing Glass over Jokinen would add fuel to that rumor. |
