On an unrelated note, these Geico commercials with Backstrom almost make me long for the Toews and Kane "let's do this--now it's our turn" commercials on CSN. - fourfeathers

Sure they can but if they go on to lose this game they put themselves in a position that game 4 is a must win and who knows Howard has a great game and stands on his head or some kind of fluke goal and they are one step away from the first tee. - jhawk159
Anytime Howard outplays your goalie...you got problems.
Hawks have a bad problem of making ordinary goalies look like George vezina.

Are you serious? He went down quicker than a $2 hooker on the first goal. - dpard
What could he have done there when his $6M defensemen has his diaper taken off?
CC is keeping them in the game!!! |

They are on pace for well over 30 shots, that's plenty. Would love for Toews to actually score like everyone says he should. - Hawks64
Would be nice. They need to get bodies in front of Howard.

Certainly not over, I don't think they're going to come back in this one but I still think we have a series.
I'd love to see Toews, Hossa, or Kane show up here and actually be a star. |

Wow what kind of magic tv do you have? - PuckkmeNOpuckU
My TV shows certainly 60% or more of the second period - 5 on 5 - in the Detroit zone.
It shows several quality chances - Howard has kept Detroit ahead in this game, with the help os two posts. Detroit scored 2 times in one minute of pressure.
Good forecheck much of the period.
What's been bad? PP, FOs, and - yes - Crawford's effort on both goals. Not his fault? Stay the phuck up with the skater, don't deflect the second one into trouble. |

We're being thoroughly OUTCOACHED too. Wings taking our speed by clogging the neutral zone, forcing us into a dump and chase game, and we're not built for that type of game...even though...DUMP AND CHASE wins a LOT OF CUPS.

Now would be a good time for Toews, Kane, Hossa, Sharp, Keith, Seabs, and Saad to show up. Three years in a row certain members of this so called core has not shown up for the playoffs. This is getting tiring, core no more. They lose here some players need to go. |

Idiots galore out tonight. If the Hawks poop the bed tonight and win game 4, it's all good still. However, it is frustrating as F$U$C$K watching this poop. CC is the only reason they are in this game still. By the way numb nuts, Stalberg has only played 5 minutes. Q is a (frank)ing idiot. |

0 for 4 on the power play. Can't get a single point shot through to the net and when they do, nobody around the net for a rebound. I said it the other day, I've watched some of every series in the first two rounds. Some teams have power plays that aren't all that effective, but there in nobody still in the playoffs who have a power play as bad as this team and the teams that don't have a great power play, like the Rangers for instance, don't have the offensive talent the Hawks do.
This looks like another embarrassing collapse and Quenneville looks clueless to do anything about it. If this teams goes out in this series, especially if they will to notch a single friggin power play goal, I have no idea how you bring Q back. |

Glad Q effed with the team Karma on that whole situation... - TrueGrit
Do you really believe 'Karma' has anything to do with this? Do you really believe in 'Karma'? Stalberg makes no difference one way or the other, he has never been a big game guy. The issue is the hawks have been checked to a standstill, Detroit is using a combination of a trap and a man to man defense rendering a team, that relies solely on a finesse game, useless so far. The Hawks Management and coaching staff thought they could re-invent the wheel and go against the tried and true method to win a Championship and so far it ain't working. |

Well....that wasn't very good
Obvious turnovers killed any momentum the Hawks had.....before the gifts the Hawks had pressure and Detroit was getting tired. I thought up until that point the Hawks had things going.....PP again is brutal.....I don't know why Leddy is not the point man when Q decides to load up.
Aside from all that...two things
Hawks are crap at the dot and this is having a huge impact on the game.....
Where are the stars of this team???
So far Stals, Shaw, Kruger, and Frolik are outplaying them......add Bickell as well. They need to show up....

Hawks may get one but there is not a chance in hell they are getting 2 tonight. I honestly don't think they won't be able to come back from a 2-1 series deficit either. |
