0 for 4 on the power play. Can't get a single point shot through to the net and when they do, nobody around the net for a rebound. - RetiredGoalie
I also noticed there have been some good rebounds, both 5 on 5 and on PP that nobody is able to get to.
Even if they are close, they can't outwork to Detroit to get to those pucks. Gotta score one of those once in a while. |

What could he have done there when his $6M defensemen has his diaper taken off?
CC is keeping them in the game!!! - Nerko77
First goal was terrible. Howard's better. Good saves DO NOT cancel out weak goals. If they did, Cristobal Huet would be in the Hall of Fame.
Hawks have too many soft players. Detroit is not THAt tough a team, but they are beating the hawk physically all over the ice.
Finally, Quenneville should be seriously questioned for continuing to throw Dave "Can't Win A Faceoff, Slow, And Behind The Play" Bolland out to take offensive zone draws on the power play. Put frickin' Handzus out there!!
Bowman/FO's ongoing failure to add a legit center, and size that can play is killing this team tonight.

Would be nice. They need to get bodies in front of Howard. - HawkintheD
Shaw is the only Hawk that will get in front of the net. Too many softies on this team. It's been said over and over all year. And Duncan Keith is our quarterback ?
Pathetic from the point. It's time for Leddy to take over that 1st position. |

Now would be a good time for Toews, Kane, Hossa, Sharp, Keith, Seabs, and Saad to show up. Three years in a row certain members of this so called core has not shown up for the playoffs. This is getting tiring, core no more. They lose here some players need to go. - droe411
Saad is having a tremendous game....are you sure you are watching a past game you DVR'd earlier this year? |

If the $6MM defenseman screws up, the $2.7MM goalie has to bail the team out.
In a 1-1 playoff series.
In a game where his counterpart in red is not letting anything past him.

0 for 4 on the power play. Can't get a single point shot through to the net and when they do, nobody around the net for a rebound. I said it the other day, I've watched some of every series in the first two rounds. Some teams have power plays that aren't all that effective, but there in nobody still in the playoffs who have a power play as bad as this team and the teams that don't have a great power play, like the Rangers for instance, don't have the offensive talent the Hawks do.
This looks like another embarrassing collapse and Quenneville looks clueless to do anything about it. If this teams goes out in this series, especially if they don't notch a single friggin power play goal, I have no idea how you bring Q back. - RetiredGoalie

So much for Stalbergs all elusive speed. Might as well have stayed in the press box.
- droe411
Idiots galore out tonight. If the Hawks poop the bed tonight and win game 4, it's all good still. However, it is frustrating as F$U$C$K watching this poop. CC is the only reason they are in this game still. By the way numb nuts, Stalberg has only played 5 minutes. Q is a (frank)ing idiot. - Dannyboy
Stalberg has only 5 minutes TOI likely due to smashing his head into the boards at a high speed. |

Oh, I don't know, how bout holding your position and not going down? Facing the shooter instead of sprawling out of control? Did you see how low that goal came from? Even if he just dropped to his knees and kept position, he makes the save.

If Sunlight hits the Wings the good Hawks will find a way to win.

The first goal can't happen, at least he has to have a chance at it but didn't because his jock was up in the rafters. |

A rare JJ sighting on a game thread
Hawks not comfortable getting hit...no news there...and we're certainly out of our element chasing the game when the other team scores first.
Uphill battle from here on out. |

The issue here isn't one guy, the problem is that winning streak and awesome regular season hid the weaknesses of the team. The Hawks may as well just try to turn this into a track meet, it's the only game they are capable of playing. |

As well as rattling his brain around in his head after he bounced it off the boards. Really surprised he came back to be honest. |

I wouldn't be surprised to see Sharp at centre in the next period or two. Realistically there are any better options. Right now Sharp is a better option than Bolland, Kruger, and Handzus (Shaw should stay at 3C). Q turned to Sharp in game 6 against Pheonix last year, I don't think he'll wait that long this time. |
