First goal was terrible. Howard's better. Good saves DO NOT cancel out weak goals. If they did, Cristobal Huet would be in the Hall of Fame.
Hawks have too many soft players. Detroit is not THAt tough a team, but they are beating the hawk physically all over the ice.
Finally, Quenneville should be seriously questioned for continuing to throw Dave "Can't Win A Faceoff, Slow, And Behind The Play" Bolland out to take offensive zone draws on the power play. Put frickin' Handzus out there!!
Bowman/FO's ongoing failure to add a legit center, and size that can play is killing this team tonight. - John Jaeckel
Have the Hawks won a FO in 8 PP minutes?
But - not finally for that: FINALLY, Quenneville should be seriously questioned for continuing to throw Keith on the point on the PP. |

That fact that this team's power play has been in the bottom third of the league for THREE STRAIGHT YEARS with all the offensive talent they have is enough by itself to look for a different voice to lead this team.
And you're dead on about Bowman. How many years has this team been looking for a second line center, or someone besides Toews who can win a face-off, or some grit that can play the dump and chase game.
Ah, forget it. Just too friggin disgusted! |

That 1st one was all on Seabrook . - mrpaulish
Both goals lay at the feet of our defense. Seabrook on the first and Rozsival on the 2nd. |

Saad is having a tremendous game....are you sure you are watching a past game you DVR'd earlier this year? - UnnamedSource
Saad
Hjalmarsson
Good
Bickell's been pretty good
Keith up and down
Hossa OK
Roszival
Bolland
Bad
Hawks won the first period, Detroit the second but the Hawks didn't finish anything and Detroit did. Their goalie has been better.

Toews? Kane? WTF?
Have stellar seasons and then no where to be found in the post season.
I am a huge Toews fan but 3 goals in the past 30 playoff games and counting is just inexcusable.
The skill level on this team and to have a PP that is literally painful to watch is mind boggling.
I've been saying it for 3 years now, Kitch. and his PP have to go.
How is that the rest of the league see's what the hawks are doing and adjust but the whole phuking organization doesn't.

Unfortunately I don't think the Hawks have the collective balls to pull it off. - Hawks64
I thought we'd win in 6 or 7. What i didn't think was that we'd mail in game 2 and basically hand them home ice.

My TV shows certainly 60% or more of the second period - 5 on 5 - in the Detroit zone.
It shows several quality chances - Howard has kept Detroit ahead in this game, with the help os two posts. Detroit scored 2 times in one minute of pressure.
Good forecheck much of the period.
What's been bad? PP, FOs, and - yes - Crawford's effort on both goals. Not his fault? Stay the phuck up with the skater, don't deflect the second one into trouble. - StLBravesFan
Really, I know you are much smarter than this. After a year and change of being fixated on one thing. CC is not this teams problem. He is keeping them in the game. He stopped at least 3 other point blankers.
How bout we actually look at all the guys with all the ice time and payroll and press clippings...all the sacred cows of many here.
The game is not over, they are getting chances, sooner or later one will go. This is called adversity.
I like how when the big guys don't get it done, Q will yell at Shaw and Stalhberg.....good stuff Q.
No time for panic, just man up...that is it. |

I think he has played well for his first game back..... - UnnamedSource
I thought he would take the message to heart, if it was performances base. Not very noticeable, notvery physical. In a game like this a player like him sshould be making a difference. He's not, so it's disappointing. |

Do you really believe 'Karma' has anything to do with this? Do you really believe in 'Karma'? Stalberg makes no difference one way or the other, he has never been a big game guy. The issue is the hawks have been checked to a standstill, Detroit is using a combination of a trap and a man to man defense rendering a team, that relies solely on a finesse game, useless so far. The Hawks Management and coaching staff thought they could re-invent the wheel and go against the tried and true method to win a Championship and so far it ain't working. - paulr
Do you mean re-invent the "Winged Wheel"? |

On the first goal, Crawford was faked out of his jock, down and out, you cannot excuse that. You guys keep making excuses for an average at best goalie. I don't care how many "great saves" he makes or Olczyk says he makes. He is just not that good, proven time and again. |

The margin of victory at this point is a goal on which he was down and out way too early. Indefensible.
Good saves Do NOT cancel out weak goals.
