Not with the mindset of this team. Everything came too easy this year. Worst thing that happened was the Hawks beating Detroit like 6 or 7 in a row. Made them think this series was a foregone conclusion, much like they thought the Wild series was a foregone conclusion and it showed in their uninspired play. Why else would Q say "that game got our attention" after game two. All this BS at the end of the game is the Hawks showing their frustration. Q looks like a friggin buffoon on the bench yelling at everyone. The Stalberg move blew up in his face, the power play has come back to bite them in the ass. What's next? The players start tuning him out? - RetiredGoalie
If they do, maybe the PP will improve. That's something, right? |

But was good does 40 shots doe when the goalie can see 90% of them and you can't get to rebounds. - Hawks64
True. Lack of net front presence. Except the third line guys. |

No, the other team';s goalie has been better. Goal 1 and especially goal 3 can't happen. - John Jaeckel
Anyone who thinks Emery (lol), Quick or Lundqvist stop that 3rd goal is heavily medicated or just flat-out delusional. How about some blame for Seabrook for the first goal? Not the first time he has been burned in these playoffs.
I'll just agree to disagree because I know how this ends. |

3rd period FIGHT we showed was encouraging. If all BUMPHUCK refs turn in their panties and let the boyz play like they did on Kaner's goal...we could still win this thing.
Want to see Razor on Thursday IF he's healthy.

The way Detroit is playing right now, limiting the space and packing in the middle of the ice, the Hawks are going to have to win games 1-0 or 2-1. Not sure they can do it. |

Do you come back with Emery in game 4? - DarthKane
I would but I bet Q waits til game 5—and that's assuming Ray's really healthy.

Stupid penalties, barking at the refs. This team looks totally frustrated at this point. This team just lacks the mental toughness to go on a long playoff run. If Stalberg takes the penalty that Keith just took, do you think he sees the ice again. Doubtful. But Keith? Q can't wait to get another power play son they can run him out there. The more I watch this team implode the more I think there has to be a change on the bench next season. - RetiredGoalie
I agree, I don't care if he's up for the Adams.
He won't let Kitch go and be is (frank)ing horrible IMO.
1 PP goal tonight and this is a tolally different game. |

Time and place man, and it was REALLY obvious. Jesus. They are in their heads! - Fat_Tony_Amonte
what stood out to me was how physically dominating Detroit was at protecting their own crease. every single time a hawk tried to establish position in front of the net they were either quickly shoved out or on their backs. even after the whistle. |

Yup.
Well Babcock puts his best line up out there every nite.
This doesnt let Stanley off the hook either. Any PS3 or Xbox GM woud understand that we the B;ackhawks are weak at Center . NO SIGNIFICANT Acquisitions at C have been made for 2 phhucking years . Thats BOWMANS fault .
All you One Goalers out there realize that this team is all Stan .
Q realy Fed up keeping Stalberg out for games 1 and 2 though..... - mrpaulish
Bowman aside ... Hawks have plenty of talent and the pieces ... I think Q has not made the right adjustments ... Babcock has ... If we lose this series ... its all on Q .... Craw can't let in goals like goal #3 ... hes unraveling ....that ain't helpin .... |

Honest answer, how many games has this team actually shown up for? 8 games so far, I have counted maybe 3 games they decided to play 60+ minutes. It's either the coaching or the leadership that is the problem with this team. |

The Red Wings have been dominant in the past two games. Out played, out schemed.
The clutch and grab tactics that Babcock is employing are just genius. Not only does that give a team like the Hawks fits in 5v5 play, the Hawks PP is abysmal! Worst case scenario for the Wings is that easily deny another PP.
This is all very very bad for Chicago. |

40 shots.
Cleary just said it. Datsyuk's goal was the backbreaker and the reversed call on Shaw's. - John Jaeckel
One could say the Kane goal would never have counted the the hit from behind on Franzen at the other end.
Though call and the posts. It is great when one gets them and it sucks when you don't. |

Whatever CC is, he is the least of the teams problems. He is mentally weak. Can't believe he is on the team. I mean, he never gives his chance to win a game. But yeah, gives up a few, team does not score.....again...like last year....and it is all CC's fault. - TrueGrit
C'mon, TG - no one is saying it's all Crawford's fault - core isn't scoring, PP is a disaster, FOs are awful, Crawford must take his share of the blame, too. |

I never understand how a team has to be losing and down 3-1 before they turn up intensity and crash aa goalie and fight for it. If they played the full game like the last few minutes they would win. Why do teams always wait until it is too late? |

Hopefully next year the Hawks will be built to play playoff hockey. Even if they get by Detroit they will go out quick against LA. This team can't play through the smothering checking. |

True on Seabrook, but Crawford was awful on the first goal. The third goal, dunno, Crawford was too deep in the net, GAVE HIM THE ANGLE. It was a great shot but that spot is probably not there if Crawford is further out of the net.

Only way they are built for playoff hockey is if Bowman down through Kompon is gone. |
