Agreed. Game 4 is all about heart, and the resourcefulness of this coaching staff.

Jobs should be on the line Wednesday night. Throughout the organization. Coaches, players and "GM."

Never did I think the use of " " would ever make me literally laugh out loud...

And how many of his penalties hurt the Hawks? I'll help you ... ZERO! He is coming to play more than you can say about allot of his teammates.
- paulr

How many goals have the Hawks scored while he was in the box?

Shaw has been a wreckless liability this whole series. Useless.

One of the ONLY guys engaging physically and going into high traffic areas. Too back the refs have a hate on for him.

Exactly the same number as the Wings have.

Timing is everything. When your goalie makes a huge save at a very key point in the game, the momentum frequently shifts to his team. If CC fights off Datsyuk's shot and keeps it out of the net, I have no doubt the Hawks tie the game.

Howard - he stops Sharp, Stalberg and Saad point blank at various times in the game.

- RickJ

Is Cawford a top 5 goalie? No, and anyone that expects him to be is crazy. Is he terrible because of his play? Heck no! If he gave up as many soft goals as Fleury did we should call for his head.

I think Emery would have given up more goals this game or he would re-aggravate an injury....

One thing I have noticed from this game is that the Redwings have much better scoring opportunities than the Hawks have had. Half of the Hawks shots were soft wristers that David Terrell could have caught. We have much less on target redirects than the Redwings have and have less 2nd, 3rd, and 4th opportunities because their defensemen get the puck out of the zone after a shot.

Not to mention the Redwings block a heckuvalot of quality shots.

Hawks need to play smarter and get some calls.

I get you and agree with the outcome, but if you believe that any of the skaters is not buried in self analysis and feels horrible about their lack of ability to score, then you are mistaken. The bigger confidence issue is with the forwards and core and their ability to find a way to score. 1 goal does not cut it.

And while many hate CC and feel they have him read, this idea that is projected from a message board that he is not a tough competitor and is thought of as weak by his teammates is nuts. Do you really think the organization roles the dice with a nut job? Like Cutler, people don't like the way CC carries himself, and then project that he has not self confidence when he gives up a goal.

And like all goalies, he gives up some he would like back. But on balance and over all the guy gives up 2 a game consistently. Gives his team a chance. There is a difference of a softy here and there and meltdowns like you get with Luongo or Fluery who give up 6 or 7 on all shots.

- TrueGrit

Gives up more than 2, "2" often in the postseason. And soft ones. Howard is better. So are pretty much all 6 of the other goalies left in the playoffs, including two ex-Hawks.

No but physical play does. And Shaw has been going to the net even harder than Toews.
- paulr

Literally couldn't disagree more with the second part of this statement. That just hasn't been happening

it was a "make-good" call which is one of the ongoing jokes of NHL officiating and league discipline.

Can't take a goal away for a make-up call - that's just brutal.

No point in arguing this one. Seems some hawk fans want to see all physical players removed from the line-up to create the Blackhawk ice capade ice dancers.

I cannot believe that no one has pointed out that Franzen put himself offside on Datsyuks goal. Should have been blown dead. What an acting job by Franzen. Amazing recovery. Shaw gets bs calls all night long. Never touched the goalie until after the puck was in the net. All Oduya had to do was smack the puck toward the boards instead of bringing it back into the crease. Hey Bickell if you were going to take a penalty why didnt you just punch him in the face any one of the times you had a chance?
- lemieux26

saw that too, unless they changed the rule, clearly offside

I guess they should just play the wole game short handed then since you don't seem to think that it matters at all.

Hulk...SMASH!

I see no answers on the horizon besides jut finishing chances and geeting physical. Saw is the only gritty role player worth a shít this series and Toews has been neutralized. O Captain, my captain? Hello? You there?

Shaw interference was bulshiiiiit!

Shaw scored a goal tonight doing what few other Hawk forwards have the will or strength to do. Th e refs just decided to take it away. And that goal might have gotten the Hawks on track to win.

Bingo! The team sucked in front of him, and he gave up 0-2 goals the first 6 PO games and 3 in the last 2. That's BAD??? If ya just hate a guy, come out and say it.

This is too little and too late criticism, but the Hawks anemic PP needs to put something together for them to turn this around.

If they don't, how does Kompon keep his job?

It's not a matter of whispers....it's a matter of confidence....Cleary from Detroit said it himself....the turning point was the 3rd goal....and it was a bad goal. I like Crawford but I think it's time to put Emery in. Better to do it early than to late....
- UnnamedSource

Of course Cleary is going to say that, he wants to mess with Crawford's head. The turning point was the second goal that the referee waived off.
