TOEWS? You mean the guy in 19 that was female-dogging and losing faceoffs all game? What a freaking disappointment he has been. Sharp?? Pretty passes on the power play, OK. Nice shots into Howard's glove, OK. Great job Sharpie.
Shaw was laying guys out, effectively forechecking, and scored a goal (phuck the zebras). Say what you want about the penalties, the kid played his a$$ off today. - CBHawks88
You said effective, you know what I find effective, getting shots at their net and not letting up shots on yours. Penalties are bad, thats why they exist. I didn't say Shaw didn't try hard, but he wasn't nearly as effective as Toews or Sharp during the course of the game. Toews was 47% on faceoffs, wouldn't call that losing faceoffs all night. If you think Shaws three more hits are worth 15 shots over the course of the game, so be it, but let me tell you every team in the NHL disagrees |

I skimmed much of this forum tonight.
Shaw non-call goal, no call on Franzen boarding leading directly to a Kane goal, Toews hit Howard in the heard, pretty sure Z trip Toews at one point... they showed about 20 non-calls both ways tonight. // Refs suck on both sides,
.... but at one point the Hawks had 4pps to 1 - Hawks fans, the difference Wings capitalized and the Hawks didnt' that is what happens in close series.
Im sure Game 4 will be just a tight, two good teams going at it here -- I think the big issue with the Wings, is that people including most Wings fans and Detroit media unestimated them -- Wings are the only team playing in the playoffs right now without any real expectations, which makes them somewhat dangerous.
Hawks, will turn it around im sure and the Wings will continue to try to limit errors while hanging on.

Another observation: if our sniper was in Dallas in 1963, JFK would still be doing speaking tours. If you're just gonna shoot at a goalies center mass or miss altogether, might you consider passing to someone who can actually AIM a phukin' shot??? |

Yep, if they win this series, I will have a very good blog on why Detroit does "more" with "less' talent. It's because everything that organization does is about th eon-ice product. The Hawks . . . they're in the "entertainment" business. They like to make commercials that they can star in. - John Jaeckel
I still don't see anyone getting out of the West but LA. Four lines that can bring it, with a crazy-good goalie. |

Power play entries, terrible, especially if Keith has the puck.
Kruger and Bolland awful in the dot. Bolland on offensive zone, PP draws!!!
Not enough net front presence.
Lack of patience, composure. The officiating DOES absolutely suck.
Crawford inconsistent AT BEST, and bad at bad times. |

Why do I feel like Stan Bowman is going to be saying something about "underachieving in the playoffs" in the next few weeks?

Jimmy Hayes? Ben Smith? Jerem Morin? The answer is a big fat the Hawks don't have anyone remotely close. Maybe Bicks but he doesn't bring it all the time especially in the regular season. - Dannyboy
That's a clear need the Hawks need to finally fill in the offseason. Nothing of that type in the cupboard either. |

If you're talking the model of consistency then Franzen is not an example you want to use. |

Here's the difference in what you said:
The Hawks were completely dominating play in the third period - DOMINATING. They score there - on a goal that 100% should have been called a goal - they win that game.
Something like that happens - the explanation is simple.. they got hosed.

No doubt. Credit where credits due. Wings won. Congrats! Howard is tough.
On the flip side our PP sucks though so not so worried about those calls as much as an obvious bad call on Shaw that results in a no-goal and would have made it a tie game. The non-call on Franzen? Let's be honest the man might have missed his calling as a thespian.
Dare I say if not for a few bounces (3 posts) and some Puck Luck game could have gone our way.

Number one pet peeve, how do they not have an entry, it makes zero sense. I scream at my TV every single time. How about use some speed, or phucking criss-cross or something besides every skate as slow as you can and hope someone makes a move |

They got hosed as much as Kane's goal, when that was clearly a boarding penalty on Hjamlasdtpalwehgasd or however you spell his name. Even Stephen I say. |

Calls are inconsistent every game these days it seems, but they obviously fell Detroits way tonight. Seen similar no-goals called against the Wings for years, sucks to have it happen with that timing. |
