No sir...

G1: Wings win 5-4
G2: Dunks win 4-0
G3: Wings won 3-2

I believe that equates to the Wings leading the series 2-1!

- bogiedoc

Those are games 2, 3, and 4. Anaheim won game one 3-1.

I have no desire to get involved with the main discussion going on in this thread, but I did want to clarify something for those claiming Franzen was offsides:

Per the NHL rulebook:

... However, a player actually controlling the puck who shall cross the line ahead of the puck shall not be considered “off-side,” provided he had possession and control of the puck prior to his skates crossing the blue line.

As the puck carrier Franzen cannot put himself offside provided he has possession of the puck before gaining the zone, which he does. That is a completely legal play.

how pleasant to have wings fans quoting the rule book at us in seperate posts

Toews needs to start earning his pay and justifying that "C" on his chest.
Crawford needs to get his head out of his ass.
Sharp needs to learn what defense means
Keith needs to low out his knee and retire
Shaw needs to stay out of the box
Seabrook needs to get off the booze
Q needs to do something...anything different than what he's been doing.

- Ogilthorpe2

I think Sharp is playing well....
I agree on Toews...he needs to adjust, that's what great players do.
It's time to pull CC for Emery
Q is getting out coached.

Just glad that guy got put out to pasture. He terrorized us for years. I wish the Hawks would hire him too so he can teach our guys how to stand in front of a net.
- HawkintheD

well, it makes sense to me now I suppose because after watching Holstrom his entire career his biggest focus on three fold - vision of the goalie, tipping pucks and keeping his skates outside the paint at all costs.

in theory, I suppose what Homer took as religion is what Shaw got busted on and by the rule, it was the right call.

that was some education for me too tonight.

Again..not panicking. I thought we would beat the Wings in five and I was wrong. The Wings are a team on a roll and playing well. We are getting out coached by Babcock. I still believe the Hawks win this series. Knowing how the NHL works....the officials will give the Hawks every chance to win on Thursday because they blew the call on Shaw's no goal. I still think you make the switch to Emery and I put Leddy on the #1 pp unit.

I also make Sharp play center with 88 and 16.

Make the 4th line 26-36-67

- UnnamedSource

Sharp should play centre.

I mean how many times can they roll out the same pp game after game and not think of pulling Keith off the #1 unit and replacing him with Leddy....it's just one example. I thought they played great tonight...held the puck in the zone but had nothing to show for it....the turnovers obviously were costly and CC needs to be better.

- UnnamedSource

I think this is a good assessment. It's tough to see things objectively for a lot people so tantrums are thrown and proclamations of "being done with the Blackhawks" are made. I remember back in 2010 during Nashville series or hell any time we were even slightly down or in distress I was a nutcase. The difference between now and then is that they've at least won that Cup. I got to see it before I die.

I'm not gonna lose my mind because they are down in a series. I truly believe they'll make it a 6 or 7 game series and still have a good chance of winning. But if they lose I bet it's going to make coaching and personnel decisions a lot easier than if they go to WCF or SCF and lose (which is likely if they make it that far).

Gotta agree. No surprise, in the playoffs it's about adjustments--constantly building the better mousetrap--no offense to your cat. Q tried to get ahead in the series and make Babcock adjust to what he wanted to do, but it hasn't worked. He has little choice but to chase Babcock's moves now IMO. Not a good place to be.
- grinder10

I think he should've put Stalberg in after game 1.....Q has two days to make adjustments. Let's see if he really is that great coach every one (including myself) believes he is.

Second goal in game 2 was all on Sharp, and if the puck's not on his stick he's not interested.

How many points is a hit the post? He still is getting enough separation and he has been terrible at the dot.

I'm wondering when he brings Rusty up?

Sorry have to inject some humor so my posts don't start looking like Phil's with all the red faces.

Funny you should bring this up about front office moves if the Hawks don't advance...has a Jack Adams nominee ever been fired? I was just thinking about this today.

[quote=tomcat24]It is all on the core now. See what they are made of. If they did beg stan for another crack at a Cup this could be it. If they lose game 4 it probably ends in 5. Beating wings 3 out of 4 times will be tough. Hawks finally look pissed off though. That is only thing they lack. Let's see if it matters

Hope so too and that it doesn't translate into a lot of stupid penalties.

That is my fear, too. As we have seen, detroit can use the lumber and punch people, but they will call Shaw, Keith, and Carcillo (in the 1st two games). Can't do anything over the line
