I think with some of prospects in the system we could fill that need.....but we have no pf's anywhere to be found. |

Especially early thought Saad played pretty well. Would I like him to pot one or two real soon? Yes! But played well so pointing the finger at him seems a bit odd.
First full year and maybe he's not a big hitter right now. Doesn't mean he can't develop a more physical part of his game. - HawkintheD
Agree, Saad did an acceptable job tonight. But for those who skewer Stalberg for lack of finish, #20 couldn't finish a small dessert if his mother spoon fed it to him.
But at least he competed, unlike #88.

Hate to say I told you so, but this team is not built for playoff hockey success, and the same gaping holes exist.
No banger on LW for 19 and 81 to score on the first line.
No bonafide 2C or banger for the second line to enable scoring.
No point shooting game forces play to perimeter and takes D out of offense.
Too heavy on skill and not enough grit.
Power play blows.
All they really did was improve their third D pairing.
It's a different level of play for which the right pieces were never added. Even if they get past the Wings, which I doubt after tonight's game, no way they survive the Kings.
The anger now manifests itself in dumb penalties from rookies like Shaw to vets like Keith and Bolland which just make bad into worse.
Kings repeat. |

Unless it's banana pudding. Saad and Stals still create chances and are getting the separation....Toews isn't |

What game did you watch tonight? - UnnamedSource
tell me what I missed since I turned it on with 8 minutes to go! I love Saad's potential but that kid has to develope a mean streak in him if he wants to keep playing with 19& 81! I have a hunch if we get bounced SB will address that & thee second line center issue come july 1st! maybe he will even suprise us with a bold move or 2??
like say stasny from the lanche for #2 center, enough of the bandade bullsh it with that position &/or a gunslinger who can play meaningful minutes with 19 & 81?? |

To early to talk who's coming and who is going.....but Saad doesn't need to develop a nasty streak for him to become successful. |

i'm not even talking about fighting, basically what you are saying I tend to agree with! this team is all about skill only and otherwise is soft as puppy crap! it's frustrating all season long everytime we play a team that pushes us around, out comes the book of excuses either by the staff, the media or some apologists! I would love to have 2 players like the mule & homer! the only way we are going to get that is by trade . and with scotties kid at the helm it ain't happenin! & don't let 29 fool you either. he's playing for a contract. once "he gets his" he'll revert back to the same old show up & play when I feel like it dog ass that he was before!
I know i am rubbing some the wrong way about that, just my opinion , thats all! - wonthecup10
Guess what pal, all this team has for physical is #29 and a 5'8" center/RW who plays like he is 6'5'. After that it's Hammer and nobody else.
And somebody needs to explain to Brent Seabrook that non contact hockey is for summer leagues and old timers. |

Yes he has...but I need more than 1 or 2. The Wings are playing him perfectly...so he needs to adjust. I think he can but sooner rather than later at this point..... |

Is it time for Emery? If they lose, I wonder if Toews is as confident at his golf tourny this year being supportive of his goalie. |

I want us to do well but in a way, I am curious to see just what they will say if detroit sends us packing in 5! |
