So, do you think Black Hawk fans are starting to sweat a whole heck of a lot right now?
I still would like to see a Chicago/Boston final though, the fact that both teams have been around forever and have never met in the finals, would make it pretty cool.
BTW I am the only one who thinks Holmgren is going to pull off a trade for a defenseman that none of us will have seen coming?
Finally in the patting myself on the back dept: After 4 weeks of diet and exercise, I have lost 12 lbs and today ran a mile for the first time in about 20 years or so! |

I think Chicago fans should definitely be concerned. Detroit took over the last game. And momentum is on their side.
I said it before that a deal made could be one that comes out of no where. That there was no speculation on.
Congrats on the weight loss. I know how hard that is to do. |

Thanks, it can be a female dog, but now I'm really getting into the whole workout thing. Gotta lose about 35 more and I will be back to where I was when I stopped playing hockey in my early 20s. |

what I part with depends on who is coming back. For a guy like Edler or Yandle, I would be willing to part with Read or Simmonds plus a prospect and this year's 2nd. Obviously for someone like Pietrangelo or Weber it would take a whole lot more most likely starting with this years 1st and Couturier.
I also would have no problem with just signing someone like Mark Streit if the deal is no more than 2 years and not too high a cap hit and holding on to all of our forwards. If Gustafsson continues to develop and Mezaros and Grossmann can return to health there may be no reason to rush into a deal. |

yeah. i cant see a guy like pietrangelo or weber being moved at all. the package of simmonds plus for edler could be really tempting to give up, but could pay off handsomely. i dont think streit is a bad stopgap, but eventually i think this team needs a long term above average d man to really improve |

I keep hearing all the talk and rumors that Vancouver is going to move Edler. I still can't understand why. He's exactly what the Flyers need. And I would pay a quality price within reason to obtain him.

im not sure why they would either. seems like a change just to make a change, but definitely moving a quality part. he would make a HUGE difference on the flyers. young, mobile, decent shot, can pass, hard hitting, and not a liability positionally. |

yeah that is true. i dont think the nucks would be able to pry coots or schenn out of philadelphia though. but yeah that wouldnt make sense to move them for edler but not weber, if that was the case |

There's rumors Edler could be moved and the Canucks and Flyers seem like ideal trade partners. At the deadline, the Panthers were supposedly entertaining offers for Kulikov. He'd be a great fit
I'd be open to a guy like Streit in FA, on a short term deal to buy some time. Obviously he's not a long term answer, but for a couple three years, he should be more than adequate.
I'd also be open to buying low on a younger guy who might have fallen out of grace to some extent. Jamie McBain or Rafe Diaz come to mind in this respect. |

Trade rumors. Not rumors concerning a player character or behavior, that are unsubstantiated.
