Wish I could take part. But I'd just be guessing. Don't know anything about any of the players. But it's a fun idea.

I picked Pullock, though if Monahan were availible, I would have to take him. But the fan in me kinda hopes he isn't. Ristolian and Nurse would be great second picks but our needs match up with Pullock's skill set more.

Why would they want an aging center who has lost a step, when they already have Giroux, Schenn, Couturier and Laughton?
- BiggE

To trade a current center for a D man? As you can clearly read, I am not suggesting they pick him up so..........

I have a quick question. I really want to go to NJ to watch this draft. Does anyone know how fans can get in?

Pulock's hockey sense, two way ability, and offensive upside got my vote. I also think its likely that he is available at 11. I'd say the draft goes: Jones, MacK, Drouin, Nichushkin, Barkov, Monahan, Nurse, Lindholm, Zadorov, Shinkaruk and then Pulock.

I went with Pulock. I like the offensive game and the laser shot.

A lot of people on here know a lot about these guys, so speak for yourself Drebbin!

I think Pulock and Ristolienan (sp) are about equal. Coin toss. I picked Risto.

Now that the contract issue has been put to bed for Nichushkin, I see the top 11 going as follows (assumes no trades, which is highly doubtful!):
1. COL Jones
2. FLA MacKinnon
3. TB Drouin
4. NAS Barkov
5. CAR Nichushkin
6. CAL Monahan
7. EDM Nurse
8. BUF Lindholm
9. NJD Horvat
10. DAL Pulock
11. PHL Ristolainen

There's a lot of rumors that Yzerman is very interested in Nichushkin, so Nashville might have to choose between Barkov and Drouin.

BTW, if the Flyers draft Nurse, I'm going to give him the Philly "McNabb" welcome for old times sake.

I have this nagging belief that Homer can't wait to get his mitts on Bo Horvat.

I like Pulock's skill set more for this team than I do Ristolianen's. Now that's not a knock on Ristolianen, in the WJC he was easily one of the best defenseman in any game outside of Jones. He reminded me of Pronger in the way he shut down rushes with his long reach. I just thoroughly enjoy watching Pulock play. Especially on a Wheat Kings team that isn't full of 1st round talents. His hockey sense is off the charts, and as a defenseman he is good while only playing the position for the past few years. He is a huge open ice hitter, and out of any defenseman in the draft I think he offensive upside is the highest. He's got a cannon of a clapper, but knows when to use it and when to just quickly get it on net. You can't teach hockey sense, and this kid ooze's it.

Homer sleeps through all the picks... Luuko nudges him as he snores and homer grumbles, "...just take the best player left."

Risto and Zadorov, would be drafted in the hopes that they are late-bloomers on the offensive side of the puck, because there just isn't much of a track-record to fall back on with them -- they haven't really produced at any level. Guys like Siemens, McIlrath, Forbort, and Luke Schenn were taken with a similar kind of hope... more often than not, it never materializes.

Pulock is already pretty adept both ways but may have a ceiling of just a #2-3 guy.

It's a pretty tough call.
