The debate on if it should have been Emery or Crow in goal for the playoffs for a while always came down to this for me - Crawford consistently gives up weak goals. Where Emery along with most other good goaltenders don't. Obviously Emery got hurt and Crow has played fairly well through the playoffs. But all season he just always gives up the WTF goal. Can't keep happening.

This game isn't over but the Hawks need a goal bad and no more softies. Big saves do not cancel out soft goals. Some of this is on Crawford.
- John Jaeckel

Yes. But its close to over.

Crawford lets another silly ass goal in is over.

Who is going to step up in thhe 3rd ?

Kane? Hossa ? Toews (HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA) YEA right some scrub like Bckell or Zeus or Stalber or Frolik will have to get the tying goal, yea right.....

He disappears in physical games. Like this one.
- John Jaeckel

That's true but physicality was never his thing. I feel like this series could be the other way around if the Hawks had better goaltending. Think they make a push for Mike Smith?

I would rather have a team that is not afraid to hit someone. I am sick of the Hawks smirf team with perhaps 1 or 2 players that hit. Can anyone here tell me if there was one decent hit by a Hawk. I did not see a single meaningful hit. I am sick of seeing a wussy hockey club

Seriously, I'm sitting here after watching a great season despite knowing we had a crappy goalie, and now I feel like a real idiot because I convinced myself that we had chance even wtrh a crappy goaltender.

He sucks , and we aren't going anywhere with him in the net.

Did I say he sucks.

So JJ, you would bring Q back next year?
- RetiredGoalie

I would fire Bowman and McIsaac, hire a real GM (with the understanding McDonough has ZERO input on hockey decisions) and the new GM would make the call.

Not many coaches out there better than Quenneville.

The problem is this team is too soft, too complacent. And the goaltending could be upgraded. Crawford has killed them with another soft goal at the worst time.

4 on 4 - Hawks are supposed to shine - why aren't they?

Just getting outplayed in an elimination game.

- StLBravesFan

because dumbass sends out 2 Dmen when theyre behind. 7 & 4 should not be out there in that situation.

really disappointed with CC tonight.

very dissapointing so far...

Crawford should have had the knuckler (and probably could have done a better job controlling the rebound on the first), all on him, but: the skaters are doing him no favors - no protection (18 RedWing shots in 20 minutes), very little o-zone time, no aggressive checking.

What happened to Saturday nite's physical play? What happened to the "trademark" focus on defense, quick passes out leading to the offense, forechecking and puck retrieval?

20 minutes to turn it around.

This GM/front office is not capable of getting a better goalie. Period.

Not blaming him for 2 nd goal at all. That is all on Crawford, but he has turned the puck over a few times in our own zone which have led to good chances for Detroit. Not the only one guilty of that either.
- RetiredGoalie

Yeah, sorry, re-read it -- in reality, the poor play of #32 has not helped Leddy at all tonight.

I have an interesting thought -- if Q is going to sit Stalberg, put Leddy up front and see if you can use his speed getting to pucks and generating chances.

Bowman? Very low, he is just a puppet of the egomaniac team president who couldn't work with a legit GM, Dale Tallon.

John, disagree with you here.

Unfortunately, Q has run off some of the very players we've been begging for and not using what he has in the right way. Frolik never saw the light of day until some injuries and getting a shot in the playoffs.

How many guys has he yanked around? 1st line to 4th line to press box.

How ineffective has the PP been for THREE YEARS NOW?

Those things are on Q. Regardless of the lack of grit, this club had enough this year to at least get to the WCF. Mismanaged. Miscoached. That's on Q. If you can't get the performance out of your club that's on him.

The irony is that a cup win will do more to put butts in the seat than some stupid Kane commercial ever will. Not sure MCD realizes this.......
