John, disagree with you here.
Unfortunately, Q has run off some of the very players we've been begging for and not using what he has in the right way. Frolik never saw the light of day until some injuries and getting a shot in the playoffs.
How many guys has he yanked around? 1st line to 4th line to press box.
How ineffective has the PP been for THREE YEARS NOW?
Those things are on Q. Regardless of the lack of grit, this club had enough this year to at least get to the WCF. Mismanaged. Miscoached. That's on Q. If you can't get the performance out of your club that's on him. - savvyone-1

Give me three equal or better coaches who will be available to hire this offseason. - John Jaeckel
That's the big problem... who is going to replace him that's that much better?
The bigger problem is obvious and it's not Q. But I also feel like if anyone is fired it will be the coaches. |

Crawford is essentially a Michael Leighton, a frickin rebound machine and a soft goal artist when you need him most. Too bad Emery got hurt late in the season.
If the Hawks lose Crawford is history as he should be. Good enough on a great team like the Hawks in regular season but on a poor team he would done like dinner. |

He's a lifelong defenseman, what are you talking about?????? - rollpards19
Doesn't matter -- I'm simply saying if Q is not going to use him to generate chances from the D slot, move him to the wing and use his skills there.
Makes little sense to NOT have the guy on the ice, especially when the "STUDS" of this team appear incapable of doing much. And I don't care the reason -- they know Leddy can skate, have they stopped him yet moving the puck from our zone to Detroit's? Not that I've seen. Too many underestimate Leddy's acceleration and that's a good part -- he also is pretty good with the puck. |

Well maybe not if the refs continue to let Detroit play the Phoenix Coyote style of hockey. |

I would fire Bowman and McIsaac, hire a real GM (with the understanding McDonough has ZERO input on hockey decisions) and the new GM would make the call.
Not many coaches out there better than Quenneville.
The problem is this team is too soft, too complacent. And the goaltending could be upgraded. Crawford has killed them with another soft goal at the worst time. - John Jaeckel
Not a big fan of Q myself for reasons I've posted many times on the blog, but I understand where you are coming from. However, I think we both know Bowman isn't going anywhere. Actually with the way this team is run, I wouldn't be surprised if Q is back and some of the lower line forwards are changed out and it'll be business as usual on Madison with another season of sellouts.

Let us be fair here, Kindl gets 2 for interference and a Hawk player takes out a Wing the same way and nothing called. If anything the refs are pulling for the Hawks and I am a Hawk fan. |
