Unreal. The Big Pavelski has to elevate that puck there. He's going to be thinking about that forever if the Sharks lose this game.

my thoughts exactly. at the same time, still a hell of a save. ugh. just a little elevation and overtime in a game seven is all but assured.

if 4 years ago is an eternity, what's 38 years ago?

Def. An amazing save. Quick elevates his game in the biggest moments. An absolute stud.

2009 was 4 years ago. That is an eternity in Hockey. And that has zero to do with the 2013 playoffs that are currently going on. Maybe the Pens should have kept Fluery in there. Because they won a Cup with him in 2009.
- MJL

love fleury, but if they dont go to vokoun, they dont make it passed the islanders. he was already mentally destroyed by that point. and yes, four years ago is a lifetime relative to the lifeblood of a team. the pens lineup is very different from then for sure

absolutely unreal. i know i extol the play in front of him, but that is to take nothing away from him. right up there with lundqvist as the best in the league in my mind, and perhaps even more clutch

absolutely

hopefully the sharks can get it knotted up here for him

- FlyerMike18

Quick is too good.

I don't like any of the teams remaining. But if the final 4 is Bos/Pitt, LA/CHI those are two great series.

The answer is simple : eternity x 9.5 = 38

Longer! But again, none of that has anything to do with the Flyers goaltending situation, and next Season.

Edler is a legitimate top pairing two way defenseman. Labeling him a #4 defenseman isn't accurate. The back surgery was over two years ago. Since then, hasn't missed any significant time. Edler is exactly what the Flyers need.
- MJL

No argument here.
- JoeRussomanno

FWIW, I didn't label Edler a #4. I said he's not really an anchor type in a pairing, thus he would ideally be either a #2 to a prime #1 D man or a #4 to a very good #3. That's different from simply labeling him as a #4.

The puck was a little behind him. He had to reach back to coral it and shoot it. Tough to elevate it like that.

Niemi is a very solid goaltender. Amazingly probably the worst playoff series he ever played was in the SCF.

i was actually not that impressed with him prior to this year. if this level of play is to be the norm for him, then the sharks may have a shot going forward to content again, around guys like him, pavelski, and couture as the new core

Look I have no real dog in the fight as I'm not an all knowing reference on every player, but I only questioned you because of all I've read in Edler that was the first time I've read him described as you did. So I'm not arguing with you or mjl.

If the Hawks win tomorrow night, I honestly think you can make an equal case for any of the 4 teams remaining.

The Bruins if they get their blueline healthy I think they are the team that doesn't really have a weakness.

Have to say the Pens, and Hawks have a question in net, and LA has somewhat of an issue with secondary scoring.
