Look I have no real dog in the fight as I'm not an all knowing reference on every player, but I only questioned you because of all I've read in Edler that was the first time I've read him described as you did. So I'm not arguing with you or mjl.

I watch a fair amount of Canuck games (late games on Center Ice)...Edler can look really good and also inexplicably bad. It's the inconsistency that prevents him from being a #1 or anchor type imo. Some speculate it's his back, some have other theories. I agree with those who say he shouldn't be played much past 20 mins a game to keep him playing within himself and to avoid over exerting and aggrivating his condition. There were many games where he was more productive getting 20-24 mins versus when he got 24-27 minutes. Given that a top pairing player usually has to play those top minutes, I could see him slotted on a second pairing + 1st unit PP...given that he's not really an anchor type, you could pair him with one and by default he could be considered a #4 but I suppose you could call it 3a/3b if it sounds better.

I think the Kings and Penguins are the luckiest teams in the league. Just seem to get all the right bounces.

Now before people say it- they're both great teams. Perhaps they make their own luck. But....some teams are more lucky than others it seems....

Look- to try to dig myself outta this hole here- I don't think luck is the only reason the Kings succeed. The hockey they play is unreal. They're a machine and (get ready for it....) FLIP THE SWITCH in the playoffs.

The fan base annoys me I think. And the fact that LA as a whole is full of people that have never seen snow let alone know what hockey is. But the team itself is a joy to watch. I just sort of wish SJS would have won, I like when the cup gets passed around. Each 5 teams left has won a Cup in the past 5 years.

haha will do. cant deny that for all the maddening inconsistencies, when they are on, they are two of the best watches in the league. i realize entertainment doesnt always equal a cup, but i find slight (very) solace in having a higher entertainment value than repetitive 2 to 1 wins in which there are 30 total shots in the game
