I'd love to see #15 overall packaged with some other assets to bring in either a top pair defensive d-man or a top line RW. i would even like to see #15 packaged to bring in a top level goaltender if Garth isn't sold on Poulin or Nilsson. It certainly wouldn't be the end of the world if Garth held onto the pick and selected another prospect, but that pick is an awfully valuable trading chip to use to address the most glaring and hardest holes to fill on this team. - Jethro09
100% agree with this...although my order would be Top d, goalie, forward... |

Top D for sure. As for goalie, nobody really knows the health condition of Nielsen, but if he's healthy, I wouldn't mind him splitting time with a resigned Nabokov for 1 year. As for forward, as much as I'd like a veteran winger for JT, I think they will go way of the prospects, and we'll see at least 2 of Stome, Nino, Brock Nelson or Anders Lee make the team out of camp. |

I'm guessing Snow doesn't sign Streit and hopes Donovan has a strong camp to fill that slot? I'm HOPING beyond hope that Boyes isn't resigned and one of either Nino or Strome is inserted into the line up with hopes of making a case for the first line. As far as goaltending goes I see him signing Nabby for anothwer year with Poulin backing up again. I would love for him to push for another, better goalie I just don't see it happening. Snow has to do some tinkering with contracts and players from the farm for the most part and that's it. There is the chance of a few interesting options being available with all of the buy outs that will probably be happening which adds a new dimension to this offseason. We all know Snow likes taking castoffs that are looking to prove themselves. For as predictable as Snow seems he is a bit of a "wild card" so to speak. I think with the team making the playoffs and actually being competitive in them it's going to make him even more of a wild card.
I'm hoping all of my offseason wishes come true this year? For once I'm not asking for much

Did not read one sentence of this post... right to the comments. Back to draft talk. I will be furious if we use this pick to grab a goalie. there will be a TON of quality goalies available this summer via trade or UFA. there is no reason to waste this pick on Hoping another goaliee pick will pan out. Look no further than LA and there is a perfect oportunity to trade for a goalie (no not Quick). Vancouver, Ottawa, and a few other teams all have a Starter... and anther guy who should be starting. There is oportunity there especially with cap coming down this summer.
While I can't say I would be upset if they used this pick in a package for a top tier established (not old) D-man (please God yandle)... I think there will also be a lot of guys available this summer in that respect too. Maybe I am overstating the cap issues or am just too Hopefull... but I am the coolaide guy.
As far as the pick I still want Zykov. He can score... we could use that.. |

your right..they will not draft a goalie in the first round...i seriously don't think yandle gets moved but if he does i want NO part of him..talented offensively sure but a nightmare in his own end |

"Bye Bye Torts: Best joke yesterday on the firing of John Tortorella on Twitter; “What’s the difference between Jack Capuano and John Tortorella? A job.”
Love it. Just love it."
I see what you did there! You took Tors and Cappy and made a funny about them because....
I can only start to assume that Ek, the Flyers fan, enjoys seeing the Isles fans he waxes so poetically about, tortured by this garbage. I'm betting my daughter, at 9 years old could write a more interesting blog at this point.
Sorry Dee, I stuck up for you for a while when you first started but it's time to put your cross pen back in it's case and call it a career. This blog is becoming a violation of the Geneva Convention

I almost see Poulin as serving a backup role to Nielson in the future if Nielsen can get his health issue under control, and I'm pretty f'n clairvoyant and sh!t.

i would take him on a 2 year deal around 5-6 million total..he did have 30 points in 45 games.. i don't think he is totally done..his skating is a red flag..not sure if its conditioning..lack of effort or age... |

It would never work. Grabner would regress due to the lack of speed Richards plays the game with at this point and time. |

he wouldn't necesarrily have to play with grabner..if the scouts are telling us..he lost foot speed because of age..well then we steer clear..but if its because of other issues..injury effort i dunno i think i would kick the tires |

He addmitted that since he was involved in a lot of the lockout negotions that he didn't get himself ready for the season like he normally does. It could be a lost step due to limited time to prepare for the season |

Agreed...I don't quite get the love affair with him around here. The guy isn't that good and he's certainly not the type of dman this team needs.
