Habs not bringing back Michael Ryder next season, could be a great goal scoring RW for Tavares, and...wait for it.... a realistic option.

Logan Couture looks like the biggest offender of the diving in that video. Didn't know he played like that.

Dude, Doug Weight should not have been coach of this team this past season...if he was, you may well have been among the first to criticize them putting someone else with no experience into the coaching position. I may well have been the second to say something. It can't be "damned if you do, damned if you don't" all the time with the Isles. They'd have been dumb for naming Weight coach, and now they'll be dumb if someone else does it?

I'd have taken(would take) a potential HOF player(with Ass't coach exp) any day over a guy who never made the show and was still rocking a mullet in 2011. Cappy looks lost on the bench often. Dougie's a fighter. I'll take that, fo sure!

total aside: Love how Mullet is recognized as a real word on this site and auto spell-check doesn't highlight it - unlike defenseman....

Yes, I'd definitely pass on someone who was on pace this year for 36 goals in a full season.

-- Still one more day until deadline, but all indications are Isles will not sign 2011 5th-round D Brenden Kichton.

-- Kichton, leading scorer among D-men in WHL this season, can go back into the NHL Draft.

-Per Staple

Well, that would suck.

not a big loss the dude is 21 small and playing against 16-19 year olds...remember Justin dibendetto's overage year??

I'm tired of them bringing guys in their mid 30's. Get somebody in their prime for a change. I don't care what pace he was on this year. You forget over the course of a real 82 games season the grind will take its toll especially on somebody in their mid 30's and you just can't assume he will keep up that pace

Would I take him over Boyes? Of course but JT needs a true power forward with speed on that line

And vice versa, I will die laughing if the Rangers make Messier their new coach.

What would you guys give up for Jonathan Bernier, if you were the GM?
(I know Snow doesnt do trades.)

Kichton's done it for three years in a row...81, 75, 85 pts., as a d-man. I'm by no means saying he's a surefire star and this is the darkest day for the Isles. Not at all. But by the same reasoning, you can't possibly have the book completely written with the opposite ending either. If the Isles had signed him, we'd all be looking forward to seeing if he could bring a similar game to BPort.

Another thing to keep in mind with Weight is his second title with the Isles..."special assistant to the GM." He may have his eye on a bigger prize than a coaching position.

I just don't see it happening. I would take Luongo but in a couple of years it will be DP all over again. A big contract and declining skills
- Vukota

But declining skills & an inability to play are 2 very different things.

Lots of goalies play into their late 30's, in fact more and more in todays game. As long as he stays healthy that is significantly better then DP.
