Bill great stuff as usual, after reading the Power Forwards and Undersized forwards what are your thoughts, if any on Justin Bailey - PhillyTruth[6’4, 185#, R, C/RW], Jimmy Lodge [6’1, 165#, R, RW] or Gabryel Paquin-Boudreau [5’11, 160#, L, LW] in terms of second rounders?
Pulling for Lodge, since he's a local product, and I think he's a viable second rounder. Bailey is a decent 2nd-round prospect with iffy offensive upside in the NHL. I wouldn't take Paquin-Boudreau in 2nd round, but certainly the 3rd.

I'd love to see them trade down some in the 1st, and pick up another 2nd rounder. - bradleyc4
I just can't wait for this draft. I have learned more about these players then any other draft. I would kill to get tickets to the draft but only poopy Devils season ticket holders can get tickets...
So in other words only about 1000 people will be offered tickets.... |

Assuming Briere is bought out, which seems to be a certainty,
where do you see him signing and for how much?
I don't think he is retiring yet. |

Buffalo? Toronto? Montreal? Washington? New Jersey?
I'd guess somewhere close to his current home, or his old stomping grounds in Buffalo. |

NYI - close, lots of $$, could use some veteran help in the top 6.
Montreal - from Quebec, would get to play for the most storied franchise ever
Buffalo - familiar for him and his kids |

I'm hoping the Flyers draft Everett's goalie, Austin Lotz, who was able to prevent the "guaranteed sweep" of Everett by Portland by stealing two games away from home. - Flyskippy
Pfft I'm going with Tristan Jarry of Edmonton if they took a goalie or perhaps Spencer Martin of Mississauga |

If Briere retired this summer without being bought out, the Flyers would face a two year cap penalty of $4mm per year, in 2013-14 and 2014-15 |

I'm on the Shinkaruk bandwagon for #11. I like his skill set and compete level, I believe his game can translate to the NHL. If the choice was between Pullock and Shinkaruk, it would be a pretty tough decision. |

I still have a list of about 15 guys, any of whom I'd be good with. Outside of obvious reaches, of course.
I'm still very interested in possibly trading down, to add a few other picks. Ideally if they could grab second first rounder, but even an early second rounder would probably be intriguing. |

Briere's original contract was longer than six years, so the cap recapture rules apply to him.
If they use a compliance buy out and he retires, they get off scott free |
